Then why is it that that is what everyone this when the name "Godwin" is mentioned?
Um... sorry?
"Godwinning" refers to Godwin's Law, after Mike Godwin.
Screw this Imposter Godwin named Mike. Mah Wulfnothcild can take your Mike in a fight any day.
Godwinning means being an awesome guy who works your way up from nothing to de facto king and is the kinda guy you never mess with. Can't spell Godwin without WIN.

That is not a definition of 'Godwinning' i have ever previously encountered, but good to know i guess.
after new klk im gonna go volunteer at the library, then im gonna go donate plasma again, then im gonna go take my corduroy sportcoat to the tailor to get the sleeves taken in and then im gonna go to the dry cleaners to get that weird stuff off the back that won't come off via spot cleaning.
One woman with whom [Edvard Munch] had broken because of her insistence upon marriage sent word that she was about to die and wished to talk to him for the last time. The artist arrived to find her wrapped in a shroud and lying on a bier flanked by two lighted candles. Suddenly she rose… she picked up a revolver and aimed it at her breast. Munch put his hand on the muzzle of the gun, which went off and injured his middle finger.

people on imgur are complaining about the number of pokemon posts from reddit, and there's a backlash where people are saying 'now you know how it feels to put up with doctor who/LOTR posts all the time, except pokemon isn't shit'
which is weird because i never see anyone complaining about the numerous breaking bad posts or walking dead posts or a game of thrones posts
yknow in case i had somehow created the impression that i was literally the world's biggest fan of inspector gadget, which i guess would be quite something
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

You've got me thinking about how people on Tumblr bitch about Superwholock while, indeed, using the term "Superwholock" with a straight face.
If you think about it, the really weird thing about Richie Rich (well, one of them) is that it goes a step past commodity fetishization into, I don't know, currency fetishization. Like half of those stories aren't about what you can get with money, but about currency itself as a physical object. I wonder if you could replace those stories with some kid who was obsessed with any other physical object and used a giant version of it for any other purpose, and occasionally caused natural disasters, and it would be approximately the same thing. Or are these stories defined by taking currency from an object with no inherent value to an object that can be used as a tool? Is the point that they're skipping the middleman of having to actually buy things with currency? Huh.
Question: Would any of you of the relevant persuasion be up to Cap'n Crunch with a note with Dudes on it?
Frankly I'd be up for it, even though I am not of that persuasion. While it has no nutritional value, Cap'n Crunch is statistically the best possible cereal in terms of taste.
This idea (that Game of Thrones is great because it's "realistic" and things don't happen according to narrative sense or quality storytelling because that's not how it happens in real life; that it's okay not to write a good story because real life is actually a poorly-written story and it's more realistic to have plots that go nowhere and shaggy dog endings and no actual denouement or point) is a terrible idea.

I always thought that was weird too. It's like they missed the point of the wish fulfillment fantasy--kids don't wanna imagine they have huge stacks of coins, they wanna imagine they can buy as many Xboxes as they want!
