i don't get the George Carlin brand of humour where he was just angrily saying depressing things in a really over-simplified 'everyone's an idiot except me!' kinda way and then everyone laughed and applauded
Louis CK seems to be going this way of late and i can't say i see the humour
"Clappy humor", I've heard that called. Because it doesn't make you laugh, but you clap because you agree with what he's saying.
I've started a movement to get the weak nation of Ulm elected to the emperorship next time, it'll be easier to convince people to vote for me over them.

An Amazon Original Pilot: Miles and Kelvin are brilliant scientists...who happen to be in the fifth grade. The two no-nonsense brainiacs use their smarts and gadgetry to defend their school, city, and occasionally the world from science run amok. We'd love to know what you thought of this show. Tell us at AmazonOriginals.com.

Can we all just agree that Dexter's Laboratory did the "kid scientist" thing best?

I can't help but wonder whether or not this is one of those trends we'll look back fondly on, this time next decade. In any case, I think this look better than the "neutral color with a zillion silver and/or brightly colored accents" style that seems to be the main alternative.

at least I'm not alone here
I really really don't see Louis CK as doing that. If anything, it's the opposite. He's really self deprecating.
Humor is really hard to explain. If I had to try though, I'd say that what makes Louis CK funny is in large part the presentation of his comic persona, which really seems to be "jerk who always tries to play devil's advocate" turned up to eleven (with a heaping of pathetic loser thrown in), and the fact that his humor always feels honest. And that word conjures up images of the (UGH) "telling it like it is" comedians, but that's really not the kind of honesty I'm talking about.
I can't comment on whether I agree with you on the specifics, but... you have said this before and I do not want this argument to recur. These sort of things make me even sadder than I already am, and that is bad.

But then Bill Murray and his squad of mostly white cis-heterosexual male buddies took away my home.
What I'm saying is Llammunism failed, dont make the same mistake as me.
