Its the new Fiscal treaty which offers to solve precisely Zero of Europe's problems.
  • Well, clearly somepony feels differently.
  • EU law is irritatingly technical anyway. Screw them.

Yeah, the Calvianists in the German Reichstag
  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast
Calvinists believe that the only way to salvation is through sacrifice. This treaty requires that the only way to salvation for the debt loaded EU countries is through sacrifice
  • Calvinists believe the only way you are saved is through God choosing to save you beforehand.
  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast
    Really?

    I've been lied too :(
  • Indeed you have. Calvinists are REALLY FREAKING HUGE on that whole Predestination thing.
Total depravity is the fallen state of man as a result of original sin.
The doctrine of total depravity asserts that people are by nature not
inclined or even able to love God wholly with heart, mind, and strength,
but rather all are inclined by nature to serve their own will and
desires and to reject the rule of God. Even religion and philanthropy
are wicked to God to the extent that these originate from a human
imagination, passion, and will, and are not done to the glory of God.
Therefore, in Reformed theology, if God is to save anyone He must predestine, call, or elect individuals to salvation since fallen man does not want to, and is indeed incapable of choosing God.
  • ...I read Fluffershy.

    It was pretty funny.

Now I have to wash out my mind.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    the preterite
  • Weather, you were so nice this morning when I went shopping, why are you getting cold?
  • So apparently on Duel Network I'm using several monsters that don't yet have an official translation. Such as this one, Gem-Knight Master Dia.

    FUCK THA POLEECE

  • Wow, much though I have derided Yu-Gi-Oh, he's pretty cool.
  • READ MY CROSS SHIPPING-FANFICTION, DAMMIT!

Looks like he stole one of Cloud's swords, Materia and all.
  • ^YGO's artists are well known for homaging/stealing (depending on your point of view) from various other franchises. That's why there's an entire archetype of licensed Gradius cards, and why Elemental Hero Necroshade looks like Spawn's twin brother.

Most of the Gem-Knight cards are decent looking. That's why I'm building a deck around them, even though I'm not really great with Fusion Rush decks.

These guys are apparently supposed to be both an homage to two older archetypes (Crystal Beasts and Elemental Heroes, which I can kind of see) and the Power Rangers, which I really can't see.

  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast
Sigh, I remember when E-heros were brand new
  • I never really cared for the Elemental Heroes, or their various spinoff archetypes. Not so much because of their design or anything, but because it seemed like a really forced attempt to get the game to revolve around them.

I can sorta see how you'd think Power Rangers with the Ruby guy, but yeah, it's not overt.
  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast
    ^^

I agree. I had never seen so much support for a set of cards until I said the DM support
  • I'm also glad they're finally bringing a bit of a story into these cards again. Even if most of said story has yet to be translated.

    also, this card

    image

    all of my hate.

    all of it.

This card is basically a more powerful version of "Penguin Soldier".

    ALL OF IT.

  • ...that is not a moth. Not even close.
  • and Gem-Knight Ruby isn't a ruby. What do you want, it's Japan.
  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast
    Penguin Soldier

You could lock someone with that card
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    takeittotheyugiohthread.jpg
  • No, but he's ruby-coloured. The moth thing is just a WTF.
  • You could lock someone with that card

You could induce homicide with that card.

    takeittotheyugiohthread.jpg

If you guys can talk about your ponies and your homestucks and your magic the gatherings and your roadsigns and your grocery stores and your anorakia I can talk about Yu Gi Oh.

No, but he's ruby-coloured. The moth thing is just a WTF.

It does have vaguely moth-like wings. But I blame the name on poor translation, such as when we got Dragonute Rancer.

  • But it's not even insect-type!

Also, I have a craving for more pony fanfiction now. Preferably with Rarity, because she rules, even in non-canon land.
  • But it's not even insect-type!

All the Steelswarm cards are Fiends.

Wrap your mind around that one.

I think the designers of the card game just hate the Insect type.

  • I can't say Wizards of the Coast like it much either; there's one insect tribal effect in the whole of Magic.
  • Why card game makers haet bugs.

Though to be fair, "Steelswarm" is again a translation thing, the original name of the archetype is Inverz, I think.

  • I want more Plant tribal effects, too. Again, there's only one so far.
  • Support for Plants in YGO was long lacking, but it picked up starting with 5Ds. Not that I care for the Plant archetype all that much.

Anyway, so someone on YGO's design team decided to make Gem-Knight Lazuli completely freaking adorable.

unfortunately her effect is kind of situational, and her stats are awful. Somewhat understandable considering she seems to be about five years old.

  • She also seems to be standing on a giant polo mint.

Wizards also really needs to print a Vedalken tribal card. They're supposed to be a major race!
  • No, it just seems like whenever Konami can't think of a logical place to make their card stand, they just put them in front of some sort of glowy ring.

I'm okay with that. Because I like glowy rings.

  • Wizards also really needs to print a Vedalken tribal card. They're supposed to be a major race!
But part of the point is that they don't trust other Vedalken :o I wouldn't be surprised if Grand Architect started out as a more straightforward Vedalken lord, before someone realized that since they use Neurok as catspaws even in dealings with their own kind, they might as well make it all blue.
  • Weather.

    Why you so weathery.
  • But part of the point is that they don't trust other Vedalken
Really? I assumed the so-called Origin Query (in the flavour text of Blue Sun's Zenith) was a group effort.
  • So I am going to be using this

    image

against a person who hasn't dueled since a period of time when a lot of folks though the Egyptian God Cards were fake.

    Am I a bad person?

  • What the hell is it?

  • Gem-Knight Pearl. An Xyz monster created by sacrificing any two Level 4 monsters (not quite "sacrificing" actually, but the Xyz mechanic is kinda weird). Keeping in mind most of the monsters in the game are Level 4, this thing is absurdly easy to summon.

  • Vriska: Because Rainbow Dash wants you to suffer.

Really? I assumed the so-called Origin Query (in the flavour text of Blue Sun's Zenith) was a group effort.
Well, they can work together and have hierarchies and such, but I'm thinking of cards like Thought Courier, which suggest they don't exactly have a strong sense of tribalism.

That might just be Mirran vedalken, though.
  • Actually, Besieged would've been the perfect set to print a Vedalken lord, since they're having to unite against a common threat regardless of their personal feelings about each other.

Also, the first ever legendary Vedalken, while awesome, wasn't even in a main set.
  • Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast

^^^ Hey, she's my most successful general! :P

They still haven't printed a legendary Loxodon, either.
