The weird thing is that Boom is supposed to be a "westernized" version of Sonic, when from the start the character was designed to appeal to Western audiences.

Apparently not Western enough, I guess...
I shudder to think what could be more western than a neon blue hedgehog.
i just hope they won't hurt it too much, and that the main series' design team don't get any stupid ideas
The damage is done, honestly. Everyone thinks it's for the main series, and that's how gaming sites are going to cover it. So it might as well be, from a PR point of view.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
i'm not seeing how the new designs are more Western than the prior ones
Just wait until the one level where Sonic rides the American Flag on top of a missile headed for the White House while he eats a burger with Shades and a cowboy hat on.

Either way, I probably won't watch the show very much (Disney Channel's on the TVs here 24-7, and since we switched to DirecTV I haven't had a regular television), despite its location.
Speaking of, I'm surprised that CN picked it up, of all networks. Sonic strikes me more as a Nick property for some reason, but apparently not.
Guess Sega didn't want to share channel space with Ubi.

Now that Ubisoft has figured out how to make them without being outright terrible they ought to try again
they're probably too busy doting on Watch_Dogs and Assassin's Creed to give a shadow of a damn
he's a bunch of villainous clichés bolted onto a tragic backstory, who is presented as some kind of badass gunslinging action hero
and he's a hedgehog
Sonic's attitude was daft enough, but Shadow takes it to ludicrous extremes
really bad.

This comes right after "The Posthumous" in terms of sucky royal nicknames.

i'd keep issuing press releases saying things like 'this morning [my corporation] acquired a cup of coffee and a bag of crisps'
shares were unaffected
Do you believe the acquisition will be accretive to earnings?
