Tangentially related to earlier I see a lot of posts floating around Tumblr saying that some queer relationships can reproduce and that saying otherwise is cissexist, but I don't really imagine many, say, transmen would want to carry a baby, or many transwoman would want to inseminate someone (Not to dismiss any transgendered people who would be willing, but I just don't think there would be that many). Am I correct in this assumption or am I being a presumptuous asshole?

  • my dreams are never scary when they are happening

    they are... perpetually disconcerting

i'd say a good chunk of my dreams are scary, or at least unsettling

i don't interact with online acquaintances in my dreams all that often, but i do sometimes.  When i do, they typically appear in person, because i rarely dream about using the internet.

Internet people in my dreams don't always look like their IRL selves; often they resemble avatars they've used, or a kind of odd blend of their avatars and photos they've posted.  If they use avatars of the opposite sex, they sometimes appear as girls with male voices or vice versa.
  • dream!Tre is Rayman always and forever for everyone, I'd bet

of course, this doesn't bother me

    not that i can recall

in fact i don't remember you appearing as anything other than yourself.... even if you did, i associate you more with Rarity than Cadpig, still

i've definitely had at least one dream where you were using a Rarity avatar online, not sure about a Cadpig one

Anyway blog antinatalism's reaction to this is just going to turn into crushing disappointment and misdirected anger when they decide Pizzolatto isn't an OG antinatalist (read: cuckoo for cocoa puffs).

I can tell this without reading them, I know them too well.

It's easier if you have a Kindle. Much of his stuff is hard to find in print, I understand.

Also do not buy The Conspiracy Against the Human Race from Nine Banded Books if you buy it.

Because then you will be supporting the press that published a book literally called "The Homo and the Negro"

    And that's terrible.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
Wait, on second look, they did not publish that.

They did publish the memoirs of a holocaust denier and a book on penis size by a man who says we should sterilize those on welfare.

    So screw them anyway.

How come in fiction, there only seems to be red roses; and never white, pink, or yellow?

Also, why is Gold the all symbolic and cool mineral in fiction.  Pyrite is a way better mineral, it at least makes a decent growth habit; and has much better cleavage than gold.  How can you not love a thing that makes cubes in many directions?

And really, why is it "red as a ruby" and not "Red as Eudilyte".

And how come you see giant symbolic serpents in fiction, but never skinks?

Why are there no mudpuppies in fiction?

    Yah.

He also goes back and forth on whether he believes in the books he publishes depending on what will make him look better at the moment.

Anything with "nine-banded" in it should be awesome.

    Because nine-banded armadillos.

DARN IT NINE BANDED BOOKS, YOU RUINED THE HYPOTHETICAL COMBINATION OF THE BOOK AND THE NIN-BANDED ARMADILLO.

Symbolism.  Stock metaphors.  And at least some of the time, lazy, unoriginal writing.

Huh, neato. I do plan on cosplaying as Junpei provided I get money at some point between now and the next con I'm capable of going to.
  • For once, or maybe twice, I was in my prime.

    I've never actually seen a B: drive.

One of the first computers my parents owned ran Windows 3.1. On that compy, A:/ was the 3 and 1/2" floppy drive, and B:/ was the 5 and 1/4" floppy drive (which we never used). We had that for several years before we upgraded it with a CD-ROM.

Heh, the first computer I ever used ran Windows 3.1

It was my Mom's work computer...later she upgraded it to Windows 95 by downloading the entirety of Windows 95 over dialup.

Also, I'm kind of bugged that most mineral names end in "ite".  It makes them all sound the same; as though we just numbered them.

I mean, Cerussite looks so cool; but the name can't stand up to stuff like Chalcedony, Feldspar, and stuff.

And heck, Cessium auride is a frigging interesting substance; but nooo, fiction really doesn't seem to like liquds (well, I dislike liquids; but Cessium Auride does some pretty awesome stuff when mixed with water).

I mean, so many chemical and physical properties of things that exist in the real world...

And really, fiction should learn the difference between Ductility, Brittleness, resistance to being deformed, resistance to scratching, hardness, and strength.

Actually, no.  Fiction, keep treating those things as the same.  Don't homogenize your physics with reality.  The more variety, the better.

Just try to exploit things like Liquid Nitrogen and ferrofluids and the non-neutonian stuff.

    Whoa
CompuServe (her employer at the time) actually instructed all their employees to do it that way, because they had a volume license of Windows 95 and didn't want people going out and buying the floppy disks (yes, Windows 95 was sold on floppy disks) and charging it to an expense account.
