^^ Irony is about contrasts and subversions of expectations. A woman comparing "freedom of speech" (read: being a dick on TV) to an endangered species as if that were a bad thing while condoning the hunting of a species to extinction is ironic indeed.

The logistical problem with using magic wishes in any fictional narrative is that people are going to think of better ways to use the magical wishes than understand that the wishes are actually a device through which you could judge a character.

It helps that the kind of wishes the Triforce grants are very vague. A Link to the Past's ending is a good showcase of this. I think the Triforce more or less grants what you really truly want and fulfills the wish to the extent to which you want it, if that makes any sense.
