Nah, mom sleeps on a futon in the living room and she uses the noise from the TV to help her sleep. Plus she just feels my presence when I'm there, even if I'm just sitting there quietly.
this will seem random, but responding to a conversation from ages back
i tend to notice bad kerning and bad supermarket aisle conditioning, but neither particularly fazes me, unless the badly-kerned lettering is on something particularly important to me, or i'm working in the store with the bad aisle conditioning
Sitting in the attic spaced out and tired and feeling kind of lame and bad but still not sleeping for some reason. Watched a bunch of Adventure Time episodes and that was cool, so I feel a lot less emotionally drained, but I physically feel like I've already not slept for a day, which is funny because...
Wait, haven't I only been awake fifteen hours? Eh...

I can't help but think Phoebe's being kinda dumb here
She doesn't HAVE to use a laptop keep a journal; if she had to have it digitally that badly she could have written it down on a piece of paper and typed it out later
EoSD will completely destroy me, but it seemed like a logical place to start
also it has characters and music that i like
Friendly Recommendation: Perfect Cherry Blossom and Mountain of Faith are probably the best jumping-on points. They're both relatively easy, and Mountain of Faith is kind of a soft reset on the series, so you don't really need to know everything about what came before it.
Just...stay away from Subterranean Animism and UFO.
Mountain of Faith is the only game in which I've made it to the 5th stage.
With EoSD, I usually get killed halfway through the fourth boss fight. Same with PCB. It's been a while since I've touched IN, but I'm pretty sure I can make it past Keine.
I know I've never made it past the third boss in SA or UFO.

...ah
this is rather daunting
especially when i still die all the time on relatively easy games like Mario
BEARS WILL OFTEN VENTURE INTO MANLAND, INVADING MANSTRUCTURE, OBTAINING MANFOOD.
THE BEARS MAY WEAVE WEBS. THE BEARS MAY CLAIM THE MANSTRUCTURE AS THEIR OWN.
IT SINKS SLOWLY BENEATH THE GROUND. ANOTHER BEARHOLE.
BEARS ARE ALSO DISGUSTING
I don't think that Bearzine is the weirdest thing that Cate Wurtz has ever done—Extraordinarily High Quality Amazing is still a Grade A Imperial-class mind-fuck—but it is one of the silliest.
Maybe I'm more willing to say that I found pop music unusually blah last year because I feel like the potential for subversive things to slither into the mainstream that was there to my mind the year before felt curtailed.
The pop scene in general has a way of taking a unique artist (like Switchfoot, or any of the members of fun.) and grinding their uniqueness away. I'm not sure if it's a cause or an effect.
Still find it weird that I found out about the existence of fun. and Have A Nice Life from the same guy, but I digress...
Yes. It's kind of part and parcel to the whole Situationist notion of the power of the Spectacle to consume and incorporate or destroy all serious threats to the status quo. While I do not agree with everything that that group posited, that notion has always compelled and unnerved me.
There is a page on buying the games here; however, I will personally recommend either Akiba-Hobby or Tokyo Shmups.
The wiki has a page containing everything you need to play the games in English, found here.
You can use a controller or whatever, but the default keyboard controls for these games are: arrow keys - move Shift - slow movement speed and switch attacks (DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THIS. New players often forget they can change speeds, which results in their frequent and untimely deaths.) Z - shoot X - spell/bomb (use these!!) Esc - pause menu
That's it. :3 Touhou is a fairly simple shmup.
Here is a nice (and very brief) beginner's guide to playing these games. Everything in it is useful and accurate information that I endorse.
And finally, here is a comprehensive guide to the game mechanics of EoSD. You will want at least a cursory knowledge of the game mechanics; the game will not tutor you or hold your hand. ^_^
EoSD is actually one of the easiest games in the series, overall, and also does not have all the refinements or polish that later games have due to this one being Team Shanghai Alice's first, so if this game isn't everything you hope for, don't abandon Touhou completely. :)

You know what conservative meme got old fast?
"You're on [ food stamps | welfare | disability | other government assistance] but you can afford a smartphone??"
Yes, because astonishingly, poor people also have a need to communicate with others
And it's not like this is fucking 2008 where you have to pay $500 out of pocket for a smartphone; any decent cell phone plan nowadays will include a decent phone, especially if you're willing to settle for last year's model

i wasn't aware that was a meme, or a thing people said
i confess that it kind of puzzles me how everyone seems to have a smartphone these days... maybe they're cheaper now than i realize
i don't see what's wrong with a regular phone; so long as it can make calls and send texts, everything else is a bonus

also because generally people dont have a landline any more, and a phone costs less than a computer, and a smartphone will do both of those things at once
and you need the internet/a phone to even have a hope of getting a job.
there's this ridiculous attitude of 'well if you're poor you can sell everything you own off until you are no longer poor', and that''s like, well, great, now i can buy food and heat my house for a week, but i have no appliances to cook my food, no way to contact anyone who might give me a job, and no way of storing my food so it all doesn't go off, oops!!
this is even ignoring the fact that the resale value of a lot of these technologies is completely terrible

I dunno, I paid $50 for my phone back in October, because I needed to replace my old phone and getting an older smartphone (the Galaxy S3, a 2012 model) didn't cost much more than getting a decently reliable "plain" phone would have
i am considering getting a smartphone myself. i mean technically i have a smartphone already but it's terrible and only cost £50 and literally nothing works with it
+ they are easy to buy when you consider a lot of companies let you pay monthly for them instead of having to splash out £400. that's the only reason i could buy it. it's only, like, £10 a month less money to spend for a while, it's not so bad when you put it like that
i mean fuck it im going to get a smartphone, i'm paying £10 a month on a singularly bad contract that ive had for years and my phone is really not very smart. it's running a version of android so old i dont even know what version it is

My phone is running the latest version of Android (KitKat 4.4.2) but that's because I installed CyanogenMod on it
The latest official release for this phone is Jelly Bean 4.3, at least in the US
if something happens to it i guess £50 seems like a reasonable price to pay for a replacement... it's probably considerably less than this one cost when it was new
i mean i could get a sony xperia m, which is, like, new, even if i put the cost of the phone and contract together, for £15 a month, pay nothing up front, and get 1gb internet, 500 minutes, and unlimited texts
imo that sounds good. even if not good its miles better than being on a really bad pay as you go.

Basically what happened is that I saw in the Best Buy circular that they had the Galaxy S3 for $49.99 with a two-year contract, and it was time for my contract to be renewed anyway, so I jumped on it because my old phone was dying a slow and horrible death and needed replaced

I believe it was XP that first renamed "WINNT" to "WINDOWS" to match the old non-NT releases, since from XP onward Windows NT was the only Windows there was...

Hi Imi
Random thought: Princesses Celestia and Luna must be roughly the same age as Marceline
Thought ought to start some kind of Thousand Years Old Club
