  • i have a check in my wallet for 1500 dollars

    i will cash it tomorrow

    1380 goes to tuition

then i will, most likely, have to buy a textbook or two

that still leaves me with 100-ish dollars

i am annoyed because, just a few weeks ago, i had 100 dollars

35 dollars of that went to vash's birthday present.

then i ordered a phone case for my sister, that came to 10-ish bucks including shipping

pledged 10 dollars to a kickstarter

i shipped my tablet off to ASUS, that cost 9 dollars

i had a meal at hardees, 7 bucks

and bought 15 dollars worth of music

leaving me with a grand total of like 15-ish dollars out of that hundred

so im gonna be roughly right back where i started when it comes with saving up for my trip in April

most of those were necessary-ish expenses, the food, kickstarter and music aside

    but still

bluh bluh i am a huge budgeting failure
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
You are significantly less of a budgeting failure than I am, my love. Significantly less indeed.

    budgeting is hard

saving this money will be easier i think, as i will not have all of those more mandatory expenses and i am not normally one for fiscal self-indulgence...

    but still
  • the thing is, i don't even really, really want to go

if i were paying for this at all i wouldn't be doing it

but i'd be a damn idiot to say no to free, no strings attached college courses

    nonsense

there is no better time to play Yume Nikki than when it's dark and you are sleep deprived
  • in fact, The Docks are one of the most soothing areas in any game ever.

Yume Nikki is not a game that can be pigeonholed

however, some of the imagery is unsettling

    True enough.

And really, seeing the ending isn't winning, seeing as much as you possibly can is, so you'll want to see all of it possible.

Relatedly does anyone else have a favorite YN event

I'm partial to Steve "Leif" Kareha.

  • in the Stuckiverse there's a Rift in a junkyard just outside of the Heights

jumping into it may (or in Tre's case, may not) lead to the spontaneous possession of superpowers

the specific event I just mentioned requires you to stand in a specific area and spam the cat effect for several minutes. So yeah, there's some obtuse stuff.
  • Bobby, you should draw a sweet-ass picture of all the protagonists of the currently running Heap adventure games hanging out.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I would enjoy that as well, although in order for Tachyon to account for certain... physical vicissitudes in the POV character, I would have to marginally spoil some stuff.

    Hmm.

Initially, the character is an androgynous human as initially described. Race and ethnicity are also supremely vague, although I think that freckles of some sort are present. Later s/he is a number of odd things, although a small bipedal tapirid in a cassock and a pillbox hat is probably the simplest.

OK, thanks. i'll see what i can do with that

i should like clarify here that i'm not an artist and i can't draw for shit

i mean that was like half the joke when i started the TVT adventure

so what you'll be getting is more of an MS Paint doodle than a drawing per se

I liked the manga a lot when I read it but it's one of those things that's like, awkward to try to get people into.

I also haven't read it in years.

That's exactly what I've heard about the show: It's quite funny, clever and well-written, but trying to explain it to people is just heinously awkward.

I will probably watch it at some point.

It's connected fairly directly with a premise in the hypertext graphic novel thing that I am constructing. You haven't gotten to the really weird stuff yet.
