Guys, guys, this is what scholarly writ should be like. It's beautiful. I mean, compare this to Yudkowsky.

If you wash dishes, you will not have to wash dishes.
-note: I hate washing dishes just as much as you do. There's a reason Wash Dishes is an anagram for Dash Wishes, as in to dash wishes upon the cruel rocks of reality.-

In England, it's "holmesian", and he's usually called "Holmes" or "Sherlock Holmes", but only rarely simply "Sherlock". In America, it's "Sherlockian", he's called "Sherlock" or "Sherlock Holmes" and sometimes "Holmes".
I really don't like the new BBC show.
Seriously, he's almost never just "Sherlock". Why would you make that the name of the show?

I keep meaning to watch that before Tumblr ruins it for me
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I seem to recall one of the regulars on #trashheap (I think it was Alicia) saying that they disliked the BBC Sherlock partly because that adaptation's version of Holmes was a tad insufferable.

I always sort of interpreted Holmes as being somewhat insufferable anyway, even if he wasn't quite that bad in the books. I dunno why.
Also now I'm thinking of the parody movie AU and I wanted to make...Sherlock Holmes: Everybody's Favorite Cocaine Addict (I Assume)

Also I follow at least one person on Tumblr who loves Elementary and hates Sherlock
It's kinda weird because I've never watched either and thus can't judge
Yeah, I really hate how in the new show, "Sociopath" is so glamorized.
It makes Sherlock not responsible for being an utter jerk to certain people (seriously man, Andersen doesn't deserve that crap you give him.), just part of his personality that he can't change; and whenever people ask him to "not be.. you", it makes the audience get all sad.
Like, he has an automatic license to be rude to people, and when people tell him off, they're the ones who are wrong and we should feel sorry for him because it's not his fault.
Also, Moriarty is frigging annoying as all get out.

Or more Ellen Raskin.
Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
John H. Watson was Ormund Sacker in the first draft.
First draft was too awesome for the public to be exposed to it.
on the other hand, Ormund Sacker is a pretty cool name, I think

I'm a bad Sherlockian
Also, names with "dan" in them are usually cool.
yeah
but you seem older
calling him by his first name feels weird
Dude must like, live inside his studio.
I'm still not a good one either way

Americanisms and Briticisms, i should have guessed
the setting is updated, but it feels more faithful to the tone of the books than the recent movie adaptations
Sherlock is not a sociopath, not even in the BBC series, but he refers to himself as one
River Song, of Doctor Who, is also not a psychopath
neither is the Doctor
these words have meanings, and they don't just mean somebody who's a bit rude and unpleasant
nor even somebody prone to violence
he is considerably more tactful than the BBC portrayal, tho, and less prone to showing off
