Well, he used to be, right? Or at least relatively obscure before having hit it big with Swimming Pools.
I wouldn't say that. He was a regional star for years and under his old K-Dot moniker he did songs with The Game and I think even Li'l Wayne* at one point before the latter started making bad rock albums.
*embarrassingly I'm not actually sure of this. Like most people on the east coast I didn't have any idea who Kendrick Lamar was before good kid maad city.

That an album that is over half a year old can still make people so angry amuses me.
Yeezus doesn't make me angry, it makes me disappointed.
At some point in the last few years the whole "Church of Yeezy" thing went from a dumb joke to a reality and that's really disheartening even if the album isn't as bad as its harsher critics would have you believe.
There was thunder There was lightning Then the stars went out And the moon fell from the sky It rained mackerel It rained trout And the great day of wrath has come And here's mud in your big red eye The poker's in the fire And the locusts take the sky
i like reading what musicians have to say about music, they always seem to have more well thought out opinions than "professional" critics
I find that musicians reviewing other musicians always come off as very unknowledgeable to me.
Which is weird because you'd think the opposite would be true, but I don't find it so.
they do tend to filter it through whatever genre of music they themselves make, which i honestly find kinda fun
it's nice to see new perspectives on things
I dunno like
for that one particularly, I don't care how a pianist sees vaporous electronic music. They're very different things and I wouldn't expect the pianist to have much more perspective on it than I do.
Whereas, good critics have listened to enough music that they can bring a variety of perspectives. There are of course plenty of bad critics that don't do that.

Sounds interesting.
I still have to get around to listening to more (indie) rap.
>indie
are you willing to sacrifice your life?

ah. Yes he did, evidently. Unless this is a remix of something but I don't think it is.
I don't know if I like this or not.
i find them depressing
i associate them with waiting alone
it's 12th night already
away with you and your festive Santa hat
Very much in the cynical "woe is this artform" mood.

who cares anyway.
what was so bad about it?
festive hats are fine, during the festive season

That's just me though.
