I was passing through Topeka so I took a picture near the rainbow house. Being near the WBC made me really really uncomfortable though. The "Yay! Redneck!" bumper sticker didn't help matters. I was worried people would think I was there for the wrong reason. Oh well. The picture of me near the rainbow house was worth it at least.

Reich comes from ric, an old Teuton/angle/jute/Saxon/??? word meaning nation or people. Hrethric means glory-land (land of triumph), or glory-tribe (tribe of triumph), or glory-nation (nation of triumph). Hrothgar is glory-spear or spear of triumph. Hrothmund is glory-hand, hand of triumph (Protector of triumph. Hand and protection have the same word)
Heorogar is "army Spear". Ecgtheow is "sword-helper", "sword-friend", or "sword-servant". Ecg is pronounce like edge, and means sword. Ecgbeorht is "sword-shine" or "bright-sword", you know that name better as Egbert.
Also, the h in Hrothgar is not silent. It alliterates with Heorogar.
Hygelac is "thought-lack", "thoughtless", "reckless" "impulsive". Or, with a different, translation, one supported by the rest of Old English, where "lac" always means "play" and never "lack" in names,it means "mind-play".

What's wrong with rednecks?
Perhaps we've grown up in different places and have been exposed to different meanings of the term. Where I come from, things like homophobia, willful ignorance, insularity, being exclusionary, and xenophobia are generally synonymous with being a redneck. Oh, and dip. Eugh.
Hard working salt of the earth types are a different matter entirely.

Where I come from, it means a man who works outside in the hot sun and gets his neck red from the sun. Someone sturdy and reliable, who will do their duty even through rough conditions. Essentially a workhorse.
Not necessarily bigoted or exclusionary any more than a workhorse is a bigoted horse.
We don't really have a term for that where I live because it doesn't really describe anyone. At the risk of prying, do you live in an area with a lot of farmers? Because in my experience farmers are very good people.

Aliroz is generally in the vicinity of agrarian types.

Yes. Very yes. There is a wheat field starting at the edge my my front lawn (except when it's alfalfa or a different crop). Temple Grandin is pretty much a folk hero, much of my valley is farmland, and it was mostly an agrarian place until my generation came to try to make it a metropolitan area. My dad grew up on a ranch, and I have absolutely no problem with the smell of cowpie.

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
Oh that I cannot punch the germs from your lungs without punching you with them.

And I can attest to the weirdness of farmers.
This is the best "look at all the fucks I give" picture
It wasn't ALL bad; we got to see Maya as a super-cute waitress after all!
How the hell do you even come up with this shit
Best character
This guy is basically "what if Bruce Lee was a werewolf"
Here's the picture, btw.

I love your purple sweater.
1. Is there any significance to the Rainbow House?
2. What is that flag in the pole that is not the USA flag?
Even better.
