I've bought Oblivion because, screw it, even with me being so in the red, it's still Christmas. And I am in charge of my own presents because no one in my family is sufficiently versed in the geeky ways to get them otherwise.
It turns out that Disposition is everything I wanted in an Elder Scrolls game. And I quite like this new Thieves' Guild. In that, well, they're not complete jerks.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
This is kind of hilarious, albeit not for the reasons intended

I wonder if people hundreds of years from now will stereotype people from the 21st century as narcissists
Since we had mobile phones specifically built with forward-facing cameras to take pictures of ourselves
It's pretty easy to explain why this is (well at least this is my theory)- Carlin's funny. People will always listen to the funny guy. Humor literally always triumphs over a valid argument. Don't believe me? gather an audience. Have guy A defend one viewpoint by making the audience laugh. Have guy B defend the counter argument using nothing by dry logic and scientific analysis, then give the audience a vote. Guy A will almost invariably win.
This is why debating anything on reddit is generally a terrible idea, people only bother to upvote witticisms and clever cracks, never solid arguments or facts.
This is why public speakers almost always try to include a few jokes in their speeches. For some reason our brains are wired to trust funny people more often than we probably should.
"Really really incisive and cuts straight to the point. I mentioned before how I hate the fact that this capitalistic, life-affirming nonsense of a society manages to somehow twist every single "negative" thing into some sort of merchandise to be peddled and Fedexed. In fact, there was an anime made based off one of the characters in Lovecraft novels, and guess what, it was an anime and it wasn't even deep or melancholic but a comedy!"
I think that moeshit Nyarlahotep anime just got redeemed.

For some reason I'm thinking about that dream I had last month:
It was a high-rise building with floor after floor of books. My favorite was the children's section, taking up the entirety of the highest floor--or at least, what we appeared to be the highest floor.
For, as it turned out, there was a secret button in the elevator that, if pressed from the children's section, would take you up once more into a small room filled with comfortable furniture, where a child* could sit and read for hours as the autumn rain dripped on the skylight above.
*I'm almost always a child in my dreams. I don't know why...

Oh, I didn't mean anything by it >_<
It's just that I often have thoughts along those lines ("wait, wouldn't that mean...?") and over the years I've had to train myself out of voicing them
So it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks like that is all
