So, forgot to mention this earlier, but Have a Nice Life have dropped a new track in advance of the February release of The Unnatural World: A rerecording of "Defenestration Song" from the out-takes compilation Voids.
It is the 4th of July, 2012, and the populace is in shock. President Sarah Palin has been found, lying in the Oval Office, stabbed through the heart. But whilst the rest of America mourns, systems analyst and FBI agent Wisconsin Washington has a job to do. For he knows who has committed this vilest of crimes. The secretive criminal organization 4chan, a group of violent liberal terrorists, dedicated to the downfall of the greatest nation on Earth. And he will do whatever it takes to stop them. It will be his biggest challenge yet, in Alice Hastur's stunning new techno-thriller, Anonymous.
In non-soulcrushing news that is in no way new, Turing was an Olympic level runner, coming in fifth in the marathon they use to qualify for the Olympics. He also was relay runner in that one race with Wossname Shaddaway, the same Shaddaway who was close friends with the unforgettable, the incredible, the fantastic Roger Bannister.
I did a report on Bannister, and since then have tried to play the Kevin Bacon /Paul Erdos / Adolf Anderssen game with Bannister numbers. Turing has a Bannister number of two. Natalie Portman has a small Erdos number, and I'm sure Turing has an Erdos number, so we could figure out the degrees of separation from Roger Bannister to Kevin Bacon.

It is a beast.
saw this when it was on some npr thing a week or two back. it slays. but it seems like the rest of the album is going to be slower paced, by what npr what saying. which is sad, because doom-goth-dance HANL is best HANL. i mean you've listened to Deep, Deep before, jesus
^^^ Well, I dunno. Dan did mention that this was going to be an angrier album than Deathconsciousness, but even if it is slower-paced, that's still cool. I mean, "Hunter" is probably my favourite track on that album.
On a very different note, I am now listening to The Wipers' "Youth Of America". How have I not done this before?
