Also, Tesco's CEO blamed poor business performance on customers for daring to not buy damaged food.
you know like as messed up as america is there seem to be all of these people over there who just seem to really, really openly hate your average working people/persons/whatever

this is the british class system in a nutshell really
like half the time nobody even questions it
and then you get people saying really blatantly classist things and being applauded for 'telling it like it is'

there are lots of people who justifiably hate him but he's like the most iconic British hero
kind of like how your Founding Fathers are regarded, i guess
the founding fathers are pretty much universally venerated
with the exception of jefferson as he was most definitely a rapist in addition to owning slaves, there's no convincing way to make a "he was a man of his times" kinda argument with rape
so he's like only venerated by the vast majority of people
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Washington owned slaves, but he had them all released in his will so people seem to let that slide for him a lot more than for the other founding fathers that owned slaves.
Ben did own like seven slaves or so, but he eventually became an abolitionist so people tend to forget about that.
and of course our history courses are shit so most people can't remember any of the others

I feel bad
I told Anonus I'd probably go to bed when he did because I still feel sick
But now that he's actually gone to bed I don't really feel tired >_>
And I have a strange desire to play Spyro: Year of the Dragon or whatever that third game was called

I'll probably go lay down in a bit, at the very least >_>

"You didn't!—You didn't say I COULDN'T do your hair," she crowed triumphantly; "and so I'm sure it means just the other way 'round, sort of—like it did the other day about Mr. Pendleton's jelly that you didn't send, but didn't want me to say you didn't send, you know. Now wait just where you are. I'll get a comb."

i was disappointed to discover that this is not the norm for Tesco

it's disturbing
Lumière: "Is it all happening again?"

like seriously the ball was rolling for eugenics so hard all over the world, with major support from scientists and politicians of all stripes
over here several states started involuntarily sterilizing "undesirable" people while they were under for other operations
the only thing that stopped it was Hitler taking it to it's natural conclusion
kinda took the sexiness out of it

with Churchill it's like that
everyone else loves him
...oh wow, 1856.
Ben did own like seven slaves or so, but he eventually became an abolitionist so people tend to forget about that.
