  The word you're looking for is probably problematic, but let's not open that can of worms. Implicitly racist or racially charged might also be good options.

  
  

  I don't believe that the casting of Michael Ealy, in itself, is a problem. The problem is that he's the only non-white person in the main cast in addition to that, that is kind of a problem. 

  
  

  And even then, it's more that the only non-white person is given the role of the 'other' by the plot. He's not allowed to act or be treated as a normal human being, because that would nullify the point of him being an android.

  Yeah, It seems kind of sketchy to me, the show's writing isn't too bad, really. They're nailing all the good points of a robot close enough to be human, but yeeeah, I can't overlook at the casting + story roles.
