    I know the feeling.

Best thing to do when you get it is to go to bed.

    Speaking of which, RESURGAM.

Flores’ analysis has given rise to a series of other articles by white women informing black people of new ways in which they are being oppressed by Lorde’s music.

Yes, you have offended me by your extreme refusal to read The King's Shadow by Elizabeth Alder, which is a great book wi-nevermind nobody ever is going to read that book and bringing it up ALL THE FRIGGING TIME isn't going to change that.

No, you haven't offended anyone, as far as I know.

i guess the one thing Flores got right is that Lorde does seem critical of conspicuous consumption

    but the rest is wut

i plan on reading that book at some point Aliroz.

i've set myself the deadline of 'within the next five years' because i have a long to-read list.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
Also, i loved the Horrible History books when i was a kid.

so ummm btw I'm gonna use Marisa to beat Mountain of Faith, Lunatic, because even though her hitbox is ever-so-slightly bigger, Reimu's speed is not fast enough.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
is it actually impossible to beat the game with Reimu?
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Of course not! I just don't prefer to use her usually.

Beginners tend to prefer Reimu and she is intended for beginners because in a lot of ways, pure survival is easier with her.

the Guardian style guide describes 'political correctness' as (paraphrasing here) 'an empty right-wing smear, intended only to elevate the user'.

tbh i think it can be a valid criticism, but only in so far as euphemisms are not normally sufficient to change anything

    I would definitely agree.

I'm sure it's a fine book, but as Tachyon said, my to-read list is quite long.

I mean, I've got probably 2,000 pages of material physically sitting on my bookshelf waiting for attention.

technically I can play non-danmaku shmups in bed (like Kamui), just not ones that require extreme precision :p

    political correctness

a term to be avoided on the grounds that it is, in Polly Toynbee's words, "an empty rightwing smear designed only to elevate its user"

I already thought the Guardian was awesome but dang

Starbound's updates are improving the game. The balance and stat progression was (and still is) way off but that is why it's a beta. ;) It is a sweet game. :3

Yes, goooooood, realize that the political right is a bush of poison ivy with a sign saying (RUB THIS ON YOURSELF).

Soon you will be wise enough to realize that the political left is a cactus with the sign (DON'T RUB THAT OTHER ONE ON YOURSELF.  RUB THIS HERE ON YOURSELF.)

Is the rash and possible death and the extreme unimaginable discomfort of poison ivy worse than the ouchiness of being poked by a cactus?  Yes.

But someday, my friends, you will be wise enough not to sit on the cactus.  You will have better plants to rub on yourself; plants that take the cactus dream of non-poisoning plants and non-causing-awful-swelling plants and actually go beyond the actual ouchy pointy cactus and achieve the wonder of a plant that is not a health hazard to rub on yourself.

Or you could stop rubbing plants on yourself.  This metaphor got away from me.
