Sometimes I wonder if people making their own personal threads (i.e., ones with their names in the title where they post stuff they like) on HH is a good thing. On one hand, I certainly do not have problems with people expressing themselves and talking about their interests. On the other hand, I think that such threads might encourage Heapers to live in their own "worlds" so-to-speak rather than help create an environment where all kinds of members, regulars, lurkers, and newcomers alike, can discuss stuff together and feel equally comfortable while doing it.
Anywho, feel free to speak up if you disagree or if you think any of the stuff above makes no sense. I also apologize if I interrupted anything important.
To put this in a way that involves boxes.
Imagine the HH forum as a box, and the various corners as the "personal threads" Everyone is still in the box, just some people like the walls to be at their sides, You know, there are 4 walls compared to the usual crowding of 2-3 bullies.

The Mind-set of a bully is thus. They have this different kind of vision, called "Bully Vision" in other operating systems this is often labelled as "Meat vision" for systems operating out of a delaware compound, and "Roe Vs. Wade analyzer" in countries located aiest of the equator.
This vision allows them to hone their ability to be cruel, each pheasent they beat into submission gives them 20 experience points.
Once they have 300, they can upgrade their guns, to have the spread mechanic, often seen employed by sammich makers in 1204.

Centie eventually decided to have two threads, one for nonsense and another for things she likes, so I tried that. My own nonsense thread hasn't been posted in in a while...
The former was really just a one-off thread that I kept bumping because it amused me; I never really thought of it as "my thread" until you framed it as such.
I've had more fun with the "stuff I like" thread anyway, as it is...

Counterclock, I think your explanation of the personal threads makes some sense. I guess the hangup with them mentioned in that last post was mostly a result of not understanding why heapers would opt for making threads rather than taking that kind of stuff to a blog instead and generally not being a big fan of people putting their names in thread titles. None of those concerns are really anything major though, so in the end it might just come down to personal preference.

Confession: I gave in and flashed my phone back to stock
I know it makes me a bad nerd, but I kinda prefer the Galaxy S3's default interface to that of Cyanogen >_>

That's why you switched? You couldn't find a TouchWiz skin for your CyanogenMod installation?
I could have, but I didn't really feel like fussing with things anymore
Like, I don't mind screwing around with my tablet, since it's a "just for fun" device, but I'd prefer not to tinker with the phone too much for fear of screwing up a device I rely on for daily communication

It amuses me that nobody cares about my stop sign page but me

It is only Thursday (technically Friday by now) but I am going to make my weekly backup anyway

But CyanogenMod has built-in theming support. The worst that could theoretically happen when applying a custom theme is that you'd have to try and remember where the onscreen buttons are to be able to go back to the default theme. Custom CM themes can't possibly render a smartphone unable to make and receive calls or text messages.

Honestly a big chunk of the reason I switched back was because there was a new OTA update for Sprint and I wanted to see if it was any good

Bleh, I've committed some kind of Android faux pas, haven't I
wait, what are you doing? reprogramming a phone or something? you know that 99.99% of the people in the world wouldn't care at all what you do with that

Fair enough.
Oh well, I'm satisfied with my current setup, so I guess I'll leave it at that.

Sometimes I wonder who uses the software that comes on that CD you inevitably get with every digital camera.
Copying pictures from the SD card is as simple as dragging and dropping them in Windows Explorer, why would I want some proprietary Fuji/Nikon/Canon software to transfer my pictures?
