But all that aside, i'm sorry descriptivism makes you feel bad.
i mean, i don't think it's wrong and i don't understand your dislike for it, but when i've defended it in the past i definitely wasn't trying to make you feel bad.
It's just that they're right and I'm wrong, and there's nothing I can do about it. They win, they win, they always win because they're right. And they aren't even trying to make me feel bad; which is the worst part.
It's like that kid that is smarter than you and better at piano and innocently wants to be your friend but you hate that kid because you can never be as good.
> why is it ok to be an asshole to people over the internet > why is it ok to forget there's a flesh-and-blood human being behind the accounts you're being a dick to
Because we naturally communicate to, and feel the presence of, others, using more than just images of letters. Sounds of voices, presence of bodies with body language and facial expressions, and all that jazz. And when we cross someone in meatspace, they are there to make us answer them.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I act the same on the internet as I do in real life and I have subpar social skills and I am not a gaming elitist because I comment about sloppy gameplay in a video belonging to no one I know and this thread is unbearable sometimes and and I dunno what the fuck my life is or why nothing comes together and also I am going to bed and also here is a hug and a kiss on the cheek for Pillows whenever he shows up.
“If the player speaks to Professor Oak in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver and has their Pokédex evaluated with at least 484 of the 493 Pokémon caught, he will say "Meeting you is something l will cherish all my life long.", using a lowercase L instead of an I.”

i don't know, i mean, they can be right about some things, sure; sometimes prescriptivists may be mistaken about specific historical facts (equally, so may descriptivists be mistaken).
But really, it's a matter of opinion. Like, i think 'fun' should be a noun, not an adjective. A descriptivist might say that regardless of how i feel about it, it clearly is an adjective since people use it as one. A prescriptivist would obviously say it either is one or isn't one depending on their preference (most likely that it isn't one, because it traditionally wasn't). Ultimately, that's an opinion and has more to do with how you define your terms than whether you're right or wrong.
@Miko i realize it doesn't make much difference, but if it makes you feel better at all, i had other people on my mind when i wrote that 'being assholes on the internet' post and wasn't referring to you specifically
i daresay you aren't an elitist, but i think you can understand why Kex gets upset when you talk like one?
i mean you don't say 'this guy in this video is annoyingly bad at this game' you say 'this game is so easy babies can play it and the fans are awful at games'
idk, i just think we can be calm and mature about this?

that's an explanation for why the behaviour is common, but you'd think that social pressures would discourage it, which doesn't appear to be the case, by and large
^^ I was specifically saying why these social pressures don't exist.
It's like how we're fine with doing all sorts of nasty things to videogame characters that we wouldn't do in real life.
In all fairness, those asteroids were trying to kill me, and my triangle was in danger. I had no choice but to break the asteroids into smaller asteroids.
I'm saying when we're dealing with more humanoid characters.
For example, you (probably) wouldn't go around shooting people and then teabagging their corpses in real life. In real life, that would strike you as very wrong. In a videogame, it seems par for the course.
...or at least I would HOPE that strikes you as very wrong in real life.

Tide Sans is attractive enough and even without this introductory discount really cheap for what it is
I find myself thanking Hannes von Döhren for starting all of this (with Pluto back in 2011) but I do kind of find myself agreeing with the type world's worries that type is starting to get to cheap to make a living off of...
Friends. We initiate resuscitation Mora. Make this game will be very difficult. Magnitude of the task to which we swung far exceed our resources. Therefore, we will refer to your help whenever possible. first task that faces us – Kick training [this appears to be a mistranslation of 'Kickstarter']. We will need to shoot a few commercials for-page application.
- 1 – For the first of them, we need to remove the massive short scene: a large room ( former workshop), lie on the floor in rows people sheltered sheets. Need 40-50 people. Each requires a white sheet (with no patterns, no stripes, no flowers!), Preferably not new, it is possible with holes. Need to wear clothes not very good: we’ll have 10 minutes to lie down on the floor is not very clean, the mattress will not. If does not reach 20 people, shooting cancel.
- 2 – For the second movie, we need to select some of the most outstanding (including from your point of view) examples of fan art: art, cosplay, video. This fan art (distinguished by the level of performance!) To gather in one place (here, http://vk.com/album-33165854_183058885 ) and in good quality. Much of what once came across our network, in this group there but much work is presented here in a depressingly low resolution. Nikita, maybe you have some ideas – it is better to collect?
- 3 – Besides this we need people with fluent spoken English, ready to talk about the game at the camera: it is good to those accumulated at least ten, but better – more. We look forward to you!

When you say something along the lines of "Also no matter how sloppy these videos are no one ever dies because Zelda is way too easy," and I have mentioned- on multiple occasions, no less, having trouble and repeatedly dying- how on earth am I supposed to interpret that as anything but an insult?
Especially considering the fact that you know I'm one of the only people here who takes the series seriously enough to care when someone indirectly tells me I suck at it, and moreover everyone here knows that I'm pretty sensitive about being insulted.
And even though you do this very often (to the point where it makes it almost unquestionable that you're doing it to get someone's goat), you still act put upon when- surprise, surprise- I get a bit upset. I like you a lot Miko, you know that. I wouldn't be complaining about your behavior openly if I disliked you. But this is something that does hurt my feelings, perhaps more than it should, but you should still care about it enough to tone it down.

It's also the cure for me telling you to read The King's Shadow by Elizabeth Alder.

I mean, I really wanted to see a buddy cop movie with Attina and Andrina fighting undersea crimes as sisters.
