Dark Souls lore is really fun because of how piecemeal it is and how the fandom comes together to piece together the plot come up with theories for every aspect of the game.
the Doctor Who episode was pretty overhyped over here, to the point where i was sick of hearing about it long before it aired
like i mean to watch it some time but i can't really bring myself to sit thru it
It was alright. It's definitely worth a watch, but I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it as a whole. It has some funny moments and good one liners, but I probably would still feel this way about the episode even if it hadn't been hyped to hell and back.
pretty much average for doctor who then?
I dunno if I'd call it average, actually. The resolution of the side plot was actually pretty good, but the resolution of the main plot was both good in some senses and at the same time very underwhelming. It was good purely on an purely emotional, a feel-good and that scene was awesome kind of level, but looking at it from a narrative sense, it was just very underwhelming.
i find that often is the case with Who, really, but i guess i'll see what i make of it when i see it
Granted, I haven't really seen enough of Dr Who to make a judgement call, having only seen all of season 1 and 5 and smatterings of all the other seasons, but I can agree with that to an extent.
I think the episode would have been better if it was a full 2 hours instead of an hour and 10 minutes. It felt very rushed in a lot of points.
Plus, I just kind of didn't like the main plot line, mostly because of how it affected the Dr Who Universe and the Doctor himself.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
So I just remembered that there's a scene in the second live-action scooby doo movie where Velma does the girl version of the Emopeter scene from Spider Man 3.
Oh man, how did I even watch this when I was younger?

Pretty much. I do wish they could have gotten Eccleston to comeback for the special, but I kind of expected him not showing up.
