The protagonist of VLR is making cat puns.

NANEY, WHY ARE YOU IN VLR
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

  • Oh so you're staying in PA for a while Kexruct? I should visit you sometime, you're only like an hour from me right now.

Also I thought about the Safe Ending during school one day and I Got Pumped which isn't as great as it sounds because no one at school has played 999.

Also apparently Palmerton isn't far from Bethlehem but I don't think Mo would like me just showing up on his doorstep.

    ninja'd

    a good ninja, though
  • Both Palmerton and Bethlehem are pretty close to where I am.

But I'm kind of cautious about going to Palmerton because, well, Mo's stories tell me that a black guy wouldn't be particularly welcome in the town.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I am following a weekly stream of it, so it will take me approximately 50 years to get through VLR..

    Also yes I read 999.

Yes it was good, you were right all along.

I still think a CentralAve-Haven meetup is a good idea
  • Well then, you could both just show up in Bethlehem.

This probably sounds dumb but if I meet up with you guys it's under the pretense that of you was friends with me a few years ago but moved to Bethlehem. I doubt my mother wants me meeting online friends.

From December First, I leave that "minutes left in decemberween" clock from that one Homestar Runner Cartoon in one of my browser windows and check it daily.

    #embarassing confessions.

I like K's voice acting, it sounds really natural.

    Understandable.

There is, of course, the issue that I don't have my own vehicle and the people who would be in charge of getting me one would probably be against me driving for an hour on my own with a freshly-minted license.

Walnutport (which is about five minutes south of Palmerton) is comparatively fine. It's just Palmerton and northward where things get loony.
  • Also Odra I could totally send you my copy of VLR if you want; I just have to wait to get it back from another friend I was lending it to.

VLR European Version only has the Japanese voice track. Zero 3's voice is fitting.

It's cool, if I get annoyed enough at waiting for updates I'll just buy it myself.
  • Nah man, I *want* to lend it out to people.

I am going to dust off my 3DS soon anyway, to play the new Ace Attorney and Zelda(which is an easyhard game)
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I'll think about it. It does look like a fun game.

No, LBW is most definitely an easy game, on the grounds it's kinda hard to difficulty balance an open-world Zelda game. Although maybe the final dungeon is hard? We'll see! Still got Swamp Palace and Ice Ruins to do first.

I was joking about the debates a little while ago.

Little Odradek loved Link To The Past for the GBA, but never beat it.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I did beat metroid fusion, like, 10 times, though.

Maybe I will do my variety streams at Saturday night.

Who wants to watch Knock-Knock if I get XSplit working?
  • When I was like eleven I made up a card game called Guardian X that I only stopped working on when I was about fourteen. (Yes I know I'm a gigantic dork.) Basically you had a single "Guardian" (basically a monster card or creature card or whatever TCGs usually call them) who had HP, MP, a stat called "Attack Roll" which, when multiplied by a dice roll, was how much damage you dealt in an attack and various other bits of weirdness. You could use spells that sometimes required being of a specific element or having a particular weapon, and you could equip various items to boost stats and such. The goal was to destroy your opponent's "Guardian Suit" which you could attack by destroying the opponent's Guardian. Damage dealt to the G-Suit is arbitrarily linked to another stat (I designed these cards on a whim and just put in stuff that seemed cool so they weren't very aesthetically pleasing or mechanically elegant) called "G-Suit damage" which even at the time I thought was kind of dumb but I always just figured I'd made too many cards to go back on it.

All things considered though it was pretty entertaining to play with my brother.
  • I made a new card game while I was bored in the car. I simplified a bunch of the mechanics from the game I'd made before.

This time the goal is to get rid of all the opponent's guardians, but to prevent the battles from becoming too boring (because let's be real, one creature on the field at a time is pretty boring) there are also familiars which in addition to being summonable can be destroyed and have their techniques always available  or equipped in which case your guardian can then have their passive ability.

It's a bit more complicated than that but I don't feel like explaining atm.
  • It's also based on the failed Heap TCG, which we should totes bring back btw.

    Goddamnit.
  • So tonight was fun, dinner was good (we all ended up getting personal pizzas since we decided we weren't in the mood for pasta dishes) and the cake and presents were fun.

I got a gift card, a 8asket full of yarn, some nifty coasters, and a musical jewelry 8ox filled with funky rings.

    Just

as a general rule of thumb

Thrillers and mysteries rely on surprises so everything is a spoiler.

Although to be fair in this case it's somewhat sortakinda apparent if you do certain things? I'd explain further but spoilers.
  • Also No One Has To Die was okay but it did feel really derivative and the payoff is a tad disappointing. I guess it has a lot to do with it being a fifteen minute long game, but still.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.

  • man i didn't even know it was a thriller or a mystery or whatever, i just saw it was a visual novel/logic puzzle game with said spoilery thing and i was like "oh hey this reminds me of thing"

I'm not trying to be a jerk here but it doesn't seem like it'd be all that difficult to tell.

And because with my endless plugging of it I figured it would be more obvious what genre it was.

It's cool Naney, I'll still enjoy it because there's a bunch of stuff I still don't know.
