I ended up outside Richmond, Kentucky earlier.
As soon as I saw the road was marked with a four-digit route number I guessed I was in Kentucky, which was confirmed after I went a few miles and ran across signs for US 25. I eventually found an onramp to I-75.

I think I'm in Wisconsin now
or Minnesota
...Dammit, I forget which of those two signs county routes as letters instead of numbers

I keep forgetting that the thing in the corner shows which direction you're facing.
So in my imaginary scenario where I woke up the the middle of Minneconsin with no idea where I am, I must have had a compass in my pocket or something.

How'd you figure out it was Minneconsin?
Because imaginary-self, like real-self, remembered that at least one of those two states uses letters for county routes, and I saw a sign saying I was on County Road G.
Texas Hollow Road. Gee, wonder where that could be.
To be fair, place names in the US are so all over the place that "Texas Hollow Road" could be found pretty much anywhere, though yeah, Texas is a safe bet.

Also, I've come to the end of County Road B and I seem to be near civilization! Let's keep going, maybe I'll find a town.

...Single traffic lights mounted horizontally. That seals it, this is Wisconsin.
I have been going around this place for ages and I am stumped.
It is very sunny, they speak English, they have palm trees, the architecture looks like a mixture of East Asian and Mediterranean, and they have British style internally illuminated traffic bollards, vaguely-American-looking overhead traffic lights and Belisha beacons with yellow stripes.

Up to this point I'd been doing the US only because I wanted to be able to use my knowledge of US roads but now I'm feeling adventurous. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CENTRAL AVENUE

It's sort of like Rorschach's journal from Watchmen.
So, good for a noir novel.
I feel like I feel like I feel like.
Y'know what I mean?
I've been told I write good action scenes. I dunno about that.
Writing noir is fun.
wishbone
what's the story, wishbone
^but that's harmful for a developing mind
It's more fun than it has a right to be. Check "hide location", let yourself get thrown somewhere and then try to figure out where the hell you are...

there're umlauts in there but my keyboard doesn't make those.
Hmm
if Heaper's Hangout ever gets privately hosted, it should use phpBB.
^Try turning down the brightness of your monitor, see if that helps.

(I have a XAMPP installation but have yet to do much of anything with it.)
Texas Hollow Road. Gee, wonder where that could be.
Because I like phpBB from spending time on the UESP forums.
And also larger avatars.
And also user ranks.
And picture sigs.
^ Now I want to experiment with phpBB.
Answer, as it turns out: not Texas.
It didn't look like Texas, but Texas is a big place, of course.

^ Nah, it was the middle of nowhere.

I picked a new location. Did Urban Only.
I have already deduced this is a Spanish-speaking area. All the stop signs say "Alto"
I wouldn't have guessed that.

Ever seen the Singaporean dub of YuGiOh?
Yami is a sk8r boi.
