ALSO the reduction of human beings to statistical points is disturbing to me
why does society matter? because it comprises many individuals
individuals are capable of feeling, societies are not
Society does matter because it's what provides comfortable and lush lives for individuals, some individuals anyways.
Just think of the number of individuals that fell through the cracks of society because people couldn't be bothered to try and fill them out? Just looking at individuals won't tell you how to solve the problems with society.
For anyone homeless person you give shelter to, there are 10 times more still wondering how they ended up with that fate.
if you take a wide enough view everything will inevitably become irrelevant.
varies depending on the person actually, Generals may sacrifice some soldiers in the larger context of saving a lot more lives, would you say they thought of the lives they saved as irrelevant because of their wide view of the events?

no.
it's not like there's a perfectly smooth gradient of relevance vs. irrelevance in viewpoints here.
i'm just saying that there are a wide varieties of ways that you can look at this is all

i said society matters
i never suggested we should only look at individuals, only that i don't like the treatment of individuals as irrelevant
i really despise the term 'bleeding-heart liberal', because it seems to imply that caring about other people is a bad thing
i have considerably more respect for conservatives who romanticize the American Dream or, say, the family, or the Bible, than those who romanticize the free hand of the market
but perhaps that's because i don't see markets as being in any way romantic or admirable
and maybe i need to rethink that evaluation in any case, as social conservatism is arguably more insidious than conservative economics

The two of them kind of go together, though. After openly hating minorities becomes socially unacceptable enough, one can simply alter economic policy to hurt them disproportionately and say it's just "making the hard decisions to stop out of control spending".
Anyone else who wants, feel free to download it as well. It's totally out of print, and the record label that released it went bankrupt, and the band can only be considered "still together" if you tilt your head and squint, so it's probably never going to be reprinted. And it's their best album.
Well, every album is Havalina's best album. (Except The Diamond in the Fish. That one's eminently skippable.)
okay, i saw something about ego, humility, some quotation marks (and spacing along with which suggests this is story time), "ego is hell" which is probably a philosophical metaphor, something about chaos, something about Buddha, something about being "born with it".
TL;DR summarized in my mind as "something having to do with philosophy and maybe Buddhism"
He told me once that he absolutely detests the ideals of Buddhism. That was in response to me joking that Gummy (the toothless pet alligator from Friendship Is Magic) is a boddhisattva.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
points for getting the right set of windows for a K2, most representations get that wrong
of course when you're missing a backboard, a base and a door, accurate windows are the least of your worries
tho i do wonder why BT never made anything resembling this; it's at least a better realization of the effect they were apparently going for with the KX+ line
It's at Easton Town Center, one of those open-air shopping malls that tries to go for a generic "Main Street America" look
Which makes it doubly amusing that they'd go for a phone booth obviously intended to invoke Britain
(Really, the fact that they have a phone booth at all is kind of puzzling; I'd imagine most people who can afford to shop at that kind of mall have at least a basic mobile phone)

Also for the 3rd day in a row I slept through most of my chances to talk to AU
I have to fix this somehow, but I'm not sure what to do :\

But okay, fine, I was late to the party, I admit.
you're welcome imi
however, i regularly misuse commas, though never in formal writing
