Sometimes I worry I didn't put enough thought into my female name

It's funny really. Give someone a chance to choose any name they want, and then you end up with a bunch of Alices. I wonder what the group name for Alices is. An amalgam of Alices.
That's the one thing I worry about in regards to my middle name. (no it is not hermione). Well, not like you introduce yourself by your full name on a regular basis anyway.

Hermione is a great name, but anyone from our generation is going to associate it with Hermione Granger, so I wouldn't name my daughter that or anything (and I like Hermione Granger!)
My female middle name will be Rae...it's a concession to my family because my male middle name was Ray and I was like the fourth generation of people with that middle name.
Luna. Feel like it flowed well, and I've always liked the word anyway. Plus, it fits well with my surname. :P And then I remembered the HP character, but eh, whatever. I would have used my grandmother's first names, except those only really work as, well, first names.

All my friends (online) call me Alice, and seem to treat it as my name...but everybody I know in real life calls me my male name, because I'm still presenting as male.

Funny thing: Legally speaking, the only thing you have to do to change your name in England is to start using the new name. Of course, in practice, banks and stuff get wary if you start claiming to be Sir Champagne Whiskey Rumbottle III without proof.

it's not really a question of whether it's your place or anyone else's, i just don't want to do anything that's going to be irritating or hurtful
and i feel that you have more right to any say in this than i have, seeing as it's a female pronoun...
if it were up to me i wouldn't identify myself in the third person, or if i did i would just use singular they
but it doesn't
