One of the things I like about the movie Cube is that the characters all play the exact opposite roles you expect them to play, but for the most part it happens very naturally.
Also the monologue about how the Cube was built that Worth gives is simply wonderful.
Apparently Cube is a bad movie because it has shitty acting according to the internet? Whatever.

Jim Henson's The Cube is also good.
I saw Cube 2 Hypercube when I was like...seven. It was on TV and my stepdad was watching it and did not seem to care that I was in the same room.
I recall it terrifying me but don't remember why explicitly. There was a lot of Weird Time Shit (tm) in that movie and a dead dude kept popping up and there was a cannibal and someone's head got taken off by a flying square. In retrospect, it's more weird-macabre as I remember it than outright scary.

Yeah I like the Cube.
Apparently all the people in the movie are named after Prisons relating to that person's personality. So that was neat.

Cube 2 is a fun movie, even if it's not as good as the original.
It's kind of like the Alien franchise: the sequels are enjoyable(mostly) but something is lost, and it just gets more lost.
Really? I thought people really liked Summer Wars.
hell if I know, man.
I have a hard time telling what The Internet At Large thinks about the two fields of media I'm interested in (that's video games and music for all you non-losers out there), much less ones I'm really not.
Anyway the TvT thread found a crazy guy who obsessively documents every idea he's ever had and every thing he's ever done and has a tvtropes page so it's tangentially related, so they're not gonna be actually talking about tropers for a little while.
I take it back. I usually don't like rap, but there are occasional exceptions.
I actually really like this song and wish I knew the names of the various MCs it features. They're not part of IOSYS (who, as far as I can tell, only produced the song), and it's some of the only foreign-language rap I really enjoy. The mystery remains.
Y'know I had this gf who idolized Marilyn Monroe and liked to copy her outfits, etc., and I kinda wish I could've reproduced this shot using my copy of Ulysses...

Steven Shaviro liked it, though, and he usually has pretty interesting taste in stuff.
Finland is the country where we play.
Here in Finland boy and girl can find a true romance.
In traditional Scandinavian way
The list of movies I've seen this year is thus: Citizen Kane, Summer Wars
Note that the second one is an anime and thus does not count in the eyes of many.
I have trouble watching anything that's live-acted for reasons I have never been able to pin down.
*flashes the Vashtar symbol in the clouds.*
Also does Little Witch Academia count as a movie? I saw that this year too.

never happened though, alas
I don't really know why and it's not my place to tell you to stop, it's just...egh.
