I remember the McDonald's nearest the house mainly for having three drive-thru windows: You would order at the first window, pay at the second window, and get your food at the third window. Though sometimes they would close the first window and have you order and pay at the second window.
That was when we moved here in 1999. A couple years later they installed the standard drive-thru voice box and bolted a metal plate with the McDonald's logo over the extra window. (It stayed that way until the place was remodeled a few years ago, when the window was removed entirely)
