I do not know a proper term for those people with the pretty skin the color of chocolate, trees, chestnut, or an astounding other variety of shades of that general color area.
You know, said people have many different shades all over their bodies, and same with the people who have pretty skin the color of something closer to peaches.
and also probably not being named Bobby in this universe where the Normans never successfully took over England and thus it is still largely Anglo-Saxon with a small Norse minority?
if i'm interpreting the map correctly, Gloucestershire is still in England and Wales is still Wales (and owns a large part of France)
and why would i care whether i was called Bobby in this parallel universe where i probably wasn't born?
well I don't know.
Also Wales owns Normandy. France as a conceptual entity is long-dead in this universe ("French" isn't even a culture group). Normandy on the other hand continued to exist as an independent Duchy for several centures afterward. It was ruled by the descendants of William the Bastard, who is better known as William the Conqueror to us. It's owned by Wales due to a personal union that happened about a century ago in this universe.
I don't know how the game determines whether or not to tack a "I" on the end of rulers who are the first of their name.
Like the King of Savoy is just Alexander de Geneve. But the king of Wales (as mentioned) is Alan I (I forget his dynasty's name. It's not the Morganwwgs anymore).
I still find it interesting that American English tend to refer to a location as being "on" a street, while British English (and probably other Commonwealth English, though I haven't encountered it enough to know) tends to refer to locations as "in" a street.
"I live on Chamberlain Street", "He lives in Oxford Street", etc.
There is also the substitution in certain dialects of the expected "in" with "at."
If I were a historian I'd call this period in my AU The Age of Queens, because there are a lot of Queens. Also one Empress and a Sultana (I'm not even sure if that last one is a real title).
Female Rulers in my EU4 game, Currently (of interest to no one but myself, likely)
Christian:
Heregryth of Hwicce, Queen of England & Denmark
Beatrix von Nordheim, Queen of Sicily-Bavaria. Emperor-Elect of Holy Rome.
Laura z Podebrad, Queen of Bohemia
Elspeth Dunkeld, Queen of Scotland & Archduchess of Lombardy
Berta de Poitiou, Queen of Austria
Sofia Barnaba, Queen of Verona
Muslim:
Samira Agathonokosid, Sultana of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and Arabia.
Tengrist*:
Botokhui Bilge, Empress Khagan of The Ilkhanate
Pagan:
Oshama Paern, Queen of Finland
Aldona Suvalkija, Queen of Lithuania *This is a converted Crusader Kings 2 game. Tengrism reformed into a formal, strucutred religion modeled after Catholicism under the High Priest of Tengri sometime in the 1200s.
"It is a matter of grave importance that Fairy tales should be respected.... Whosoever alters them to suit his own opinions, whatever they are, is guilty, to our thinking, of an act of presumption, and appropriates to himself what does not belong to him." -- Charles Dickens
I am kind of surprised by how much people think intellectual enemies are susceptible to texts they consider brilliant.
"Sure you hold that view NOW, but once you finish Atlas Shrugged/Better To Never Have Been/ The German Ideology/ The complete works of Robert Anton Wilson/ Ishmael/whatever you'll be sing a different tune."
"It is a matter of grave importance that Fairy tales should be respected.... Whosoever alters them to suit his own opinions, whatever they are, is guilty, to our thinking, of an act of presumption, and appropriates to himself what does not belong to him." -- Charles Dickens
Technically they call it The New World all the time, which is smart, because if Amerigo Vespucci wasn't involved in its naming it wouldn't be called America.

Hey! I find this interesting.
So, the Occitans discovered America Adalaidia? Good for them!
Occitania in this universe is an empire that spans half of Europe and a world power (one of four or so) rather than a small region in France. Here's a slightly outdated picture. We're bright yellow. The slightly darker yellow is Scotland.
Note that we also own Norway of all things. I keep planning on selling it to The Republic of Gotland but it takes soooo long to sell provinces.

BRITISH ISLES MORE LIKE SCOTTISH ISLES
You know, said people have many different shades all over their bodies, and same with the people who have pretty skin the color of something closer to peaches.
I like all people.

again, i am ok with this
So if you somehow lived both in this universe and 600 years ago your liege would be a teenager.

beautiful
sounds natural to me
tho oddly not without the house number. hm
just kidding, it's a real title
why have you sadnesses, Pillows?
It's cold and dark outside. I don't like this.

it's been a dismal evening here too
The original Planet of the Apes films are $4 apiece on Blu-Ray.
Eee, eee!
That sucks a lot.
i should probably sleep; i didn't sleep at all last night
i don't feel particularly tired...
It's not a huge deal but it was an accident which has me more annoyed than anything.
that, or they believed everything in the text on an emotional impulse and they expect other people to, too
hooray!
Technically they call it The New World all the time, which is smart, because if Amerigo Vespucci wasn't involved in its naming it wouldn't be called America.
It'd be called um
*checks name of my explorer unit*
Adalaidia. Which is better, imo.
When I converted the game from CK2 my emperor's name was Amaneus II, which is suitably imperial.
Glen? Not so much. It also makes me think more of Portland than Occitania.
Rise, the Conquest-inspired reboot? I haven't seen it.
The original and Escape are so good. Beneath was just fodder for MST3K and Futurama jokes.
it's a nice name
Ever?
Do said females grow facial hair?
Only people with beards, sideburns, and/or mustaches can be leaders of nations in my games. And I'll need another mod to give everybody hats.
Or, I could get a mod to make all the people into crocodilians and give them all hats, and then have both male and female crocodilians have hats.
(tee hee, pretending I have a computer that can run Crusader Kings II)
