Strange how "System Blower" was completely unrecognisable to me without the vocals when I immediately recognised "Blackjack" based on the filtered kick drum alone. It's a much more menacing track without the vocals, strangely enough.

"Fuck That" is still really weird, vocals or not.

And now I am listening to the Exmilitary instrumentals, better known as Black Google. Only now do I realise that the first word that the strange voices in "Beware" are saying is... the song's title. Also never noticed the organ bits or the ghostly pitch-shifted backing vocals. Or how the trumpets continue in the lulls. Great instrumental, if a bit repetitive without the lead vocals.

"Guillotine" is basically the same without vocals. Strangely, a line from the verse shows up, I guess because of vocal doubling or something. Either way, that song's so minimal that it's not much of a change.

It's interesting to note how the percussion on "Takyon" is almost entirely snares. That said, like "Guillotine", it's pretty close in sound and feel to the vocal take, with the exception of the weird echoed samples feeling more prominent. Looking at the moving parts on "Klink" is a bit more intriguing though, given that the instrumental is much more layered.

"Culture Shock" is still highly entertaining. The absence of the rap allows all the weird vocal samples to take precedence, which is nice, particularly given how neatly they are meshed into the beat itself, with is rattling and propulsive and just rocks... in a sense.
