The Spambots at Giantitp are some of my favorite. One of them somehow kept guessing until it got the password right to an old user who didn't post anymore (guess five times wrong in a row, and you get fifteen minutes where you can't log in); and then started posting generic replies and quoting other posters (-quote- "I disagree, but I can understand where you're coming from"; making generic posts of no real content but that were a bit relevant). So, where were the links to the stuff the spambot was selling? THey were in the signature; the Spambot edited the signature to have those links.
"Come on, guy, if we have to bring up a reputable source for the things we say, we'd never get around to saying anything. I mean, reality is subjective, and there isn't that much difference between perception and reality. Or, at least, all we see is our perception, and so none of us actually would see a reality; so what one person sees is thus visible to him and is thus true; and what another person sees is a different image, visible to him and thus true.
Thus, like the prisoners in that one example by Plato; all we see is shadows on a cave wall. Unlike Plato's example; it is our nature and experience as human beings that keeps us prisoner to perception; and not some outside force or captor.
To escape perception would be to become blind. We don't see objects, we see light reflecting off of objects, we only ever see the light. You cannot see the object itself; so how do you know what the object looks like? Thus, to think something, to see things one way, is to make it so.
If one man looks at a brown chair and sees a blue chair (where you see a brown chair).; how do you know that you aren't the one with faulty vision.
What if the man who sees a red sky sees right and the rest of us see wrong? Thus, to perceive a thing is to make it true. To perceive a statistic as fact is to make it a fact. Thus, that statistic is true; because Tobias said it is true.
Maybe when you look away, the street behind you disappears; you would never know. What if you're the only real person and the rest of us are fakes created by your imagination, but we each deny that? How do you know that you are not dreaming now?
What if there is only one language, English; and the people speaking Spanish think that they are speaking English and think in English but our English sounds Spanish to their ears and their English sounds Spanish to our ears; and same with the other languages. So, yeah, when you get into the whole "is this true" then you get on the whole "what does 'true' mean" and then the whole "what is truth" and then things go all crazy."
You know, I think I might want to use this kind of stupid argument any time someone questions whether what I say is true. It suddenly turns everything into a philosophy discussion about perception and the subjective and objective; and leads into questions that cannot be answered.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead

THAT IS SOME OF THE MOST SOAPY BULL SOAP I HAVE EVER HEARD OF
No! No! No! Some things must not be changed; and Daleks vs. Stairs is a constant.
also shut up, "Dalek" was an awesome episode
*in one episode the Fourth Doctor implied that they couldn't climb up onto an alcove, but that was in one episode out of several hundred
certainly never happened in any episode of EastEnders i saw
Centie is bored
