The holiday season is upon us
You know how I know? The baking aisle at Meijer is taller again!

Ah, I know the feeling. It's been pretty rainy here lately, too.

so I accidentally erased my entire hard drive and must now reinstall Windows

You know, one of the weirder things about TVTropes, to me, is Eddie's fundamental misunderstanding of how wiki copyright and licensing works.
He seems to be under the belief that he (or some entity called "TVTropes LLC" or whatever) owns the copyright to all the content and merely chooses to make it available under a CC license. That's not at all how Creative Commons licensing works. Unless the contributors have agreed otherwise--and I can't find anything that would suggest doing so is a requirement to edit TVT--they retain the copyrights to their own work, which they make available to TV Tropes under the CC license.
That's why competently-coded wikis keep full edit history: that's the "attribution" required by the license, because each person who edited the page still owns the bits they contributed.

Well, I've got Windows up and running again, and updated to 8.1 too.
I make regular backups of my stuff, so this really isn't that big a deal; it's just kind of tedious to reinstall everything I'm going to use regularly.

"It is a matter of grave importance that Fairy tales should be respected.... Whosoever alters them to suit his own opinions, whatever they are, is guilty, to our thinking, of an act of presumption, and appropriates to himself what does not belong to him." -- Charles Dickens
What are the most amusing type of old commercials?

*sigh* Ubuntu's installer won't pick up that there is Windows installed on this hard drive
What are the most amusing type of old commercials?
Commercials that really show their age. Like ones that advertise for old programs that you've probably never heard of/remember (or maybe you do) and that reflects when they were made.
so my concerns/fears have been confirmed and I am indeed failing three of my five classes.
One grade I can pull up fairly easily (it is a high D and needs to be a C to pass), the other two are basically sunk. Which is a problem, since I need to turn one of them into a passing grade in order to not get my financial aid cut. If my financial aid is cut, I will have to pay it back. That is bad.

the worst part is that, at least right now, I don't honestly care all that much and in fact sort of expected this.
half of my Intro To Music grade is based on an end-of-semester presentation on a classical composer of my choice. I'll just have to pass the next few tests and make it an awesome presentation I suppose.

Ah, the noon freight train
It's a bit later than usual today. Wonder what the holdup was...

Nah I lie. It wasn't an accident at all.
