Now that I think about it, maybe I'm still at TVT because of that. It has its flaws and some people there aren't the greatest to have around (in fact, at least 10% of them are tools), but the good ones there are really, really good. They listen most of the time and are usually willing to help you out, you just have to know where to look.

2008 was when I found TVT, and it was also when my mother and my siblings were in bed by 9:00, leaving me more or less with the house to myself every night after that time. I spent lots of time binging TVT but also reading comics and checking out license plate anorakia.
...It's funny, at the start of that summer, I always tried to get in bed by midnight, but eventually I ended up going to bed at 1:00. And that "bedtime" has slipped later and later every year to the point where now it's 6:00 AM, at least on nights when I don't have school.
Now that I think about it, maybe I'm still at TVT because of that. TV Tropes is a great place to meet people who like stuffs you do, and it's a catch-all for a ton of different fandoms, which is why I like it.
I find it weird now that I've found EDM that is markedly better than most of deadmau5's stuff (Strobe being the main exception), but I still like him for some reason.
Maybe it's 'cuz he really got me into the genres as a whole, but still.
Same deal with David Guetta: I still like him even though there are better DJs.
Maybe it's not your kind of trashy (no offence intended; I like trashy movies too). I saw it today. I think the funniest thing was the absolutely godawful greenscreening. Yes, I totally believe you are on a mountain in your string bikini.
I don't know if I'd be able to describe the type of trashiness I'm okay with and that I'm not okay with. Blatant exploitation, like Sucker Punch, no. Exploitation parodies, like Machete, yes.
