Reluctantly, Liai agreed, and it was here that the sickle-wielder handed Nobella her first and last loss, as she stumbled from a parried thrust, Nobella lost her footing, and fell onto the train tracks below the bell tower. Her flaw was her honor.
Liai entered the Dance-Knight's Academy on a full scholarship after proving her undeniable talent in local and regional matches throghout the country. She could hardly expect that her first day there would end the career of the most prestigious student the Academy had, and earn her a sinister reputation she wanted no part of. Liai now struggles to make friends or even acquaintances at the academy, and must live with the consequences of her actions.

Some say her ghost now haunts her old dormitory.

Yukari Yakumo: Alias "The Violet Border". Leader of the Yakumo Mafia. Unfathomably powerful, being able to bend reality on a whim. Only a few have ever bested her in combat. Thankfully, she is rather laid-back for a crime lord. Has an iron grip on Gensokyo's politics, due to her close connections to the Hakurei family. Rather whimsical and lazy.
Ran Yakumo: Alias "The Nine-Tailed Orchid". A shikigami created by Yukari, and her personal bodyguard. Immensely dangerous in her own right, due to drawing power from her mistress. Has a weakness for fried tofu.
Chen Yakumo: A shikigami created by Ran. Whilst nowhere near as powerful as her mistress or Yukari, she is still a force to be reckoned with when angered. She mainly runs errands for the Yakumo family. Very energetic.
Yuyuko Saigyouji: Alias "Netherworld Princess". Ghostly ruler of the Netherworld. Despite her position, she is extremely friendly and cheerful. Although officially unaffiliated with any of the crime families, she has a close friendship with Yukari, due to an incident in their past. She has the ability to kill anybody at will, but does not make use of it. May be far more intelligent than she acts. A glutton.
Youmu Konpaku: Alias "The Princess's Blade". A half-phantom, and granddaughter of the legendary swordsman Youki Konpaku. Able to move at a lightning pace, she wields her sword as if it were an extension of her own body. The Netherworld's gardener, and Yuyuko's bodyguard. Stoic, and loyal only to her mistress.
