MOUNTAINS AND TREES EVERYWHERE I CAN'T SEE FIFTY FEET AHEAD OF ME

    /East Tennessee
  • Hey I dunno if anyone was interested in the project, but Shantae: Half-Genie Hero hit its funding goals 12 hours ago.

Let me show you guys something

That's the road into the Columbus neighborhood called "The Hilltop".

THAT'S WHAT QUALIFIES AS A FUCKING "HILL" AROUND HERE
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
I'm pretty sure we have steeper hills here, especially northwest of the fall line.

    Majestic yet imposing. Often green.

    /Pennsylvania
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
There are so many goddamn hills around here, I wish I lived in a place that was flat.

(this is the only time you will see me saying that "flat" is a good thing)
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I love hills and mountains. Living somewhere like Kansas would just be... depressing? No pun intended.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Having driven through Kansas, I can say that I actually find the vast empty flatness to be kind of profound.

    I like it, anyway.
  • minnesota da bess

we don't have any mountains tho

    I'm used to Ohio's flatness

It's what I've known my entire life

Makes it a bit jarring when I go places like West Virginia or East Tennessee

I have some pictures from last December that demonstrate Ohio's flatness quite well but they're not uploaded anywhere

    I'll have to fix this
  • Why can't I just live in Tamriel, though.

With the Internet, naturally. And a portal to Earth in case I get homesick.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
I can't find a good street view of the hills in Arlington, but hey what's this huge freaking bridge doing here
  • The Midwest states looked pretty neat when I went through them this summer. I've always liked the look of rolling hills.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    emptiness is the greatest fullness

  • I just love how smooth the Midwest looks.

there are no mountains in the part of England where i grew up

    lots of hills, tho
  • Is it pathetic that I want to move out as soon as possible so it won't affect me as much when my dog dies?

Or that I'll try to avoid getting pets because I really really don't like seeing animals die?
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
how about New York or LA :P

My first thought when I saw this was that Naney would like it, though beyond the corgi I don't know why he would.

That's one of the sad things about pet ownership, really...you develop a strong emotional attachment to an animal knowing full well that you're almost certainly going to outlive it. :(

    Not at all.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
i felt really guilty for not being as affected when our second cat died as when our first cat died

she was so old and weak, tho

is it possible to become desensitized to death, i wonder?
  • if i ever get a kitty i will make sure that it is nice and happy and pampered. Then I will know that i have done my job.
  • The annoying part is that there's no way I'll have enough money amassed by the time I'm eighteen to move out of my mother's house, let alone enough money to move far enough away so that I could build up the required emotional barrier. And the only relative I could see myself moving in with is my aunt and after what happened over summer break I'll probably try to avoid her as much as humanly possible.

I've seen two animals die* and I really can't handle all the intense emotion that comes from witnessing that.

*My pet of twelve years, Lily, and (seriously if you don't like reading about animal death do not highlight this) a kitten that would play with me while I was waiting for my bus. It got hit by a car that I saw coming from a few hundred feet away and it was a totally preventable death. Even worse, I had to sit all alone on the bus after seeing that and I couldn't talk to anyone. It was pretty miserable.

    You know

My fondness for service vehicles always made me feel weird

Like, I always felt like I was the only kid who would pick the Matchbox set with a police car, a tow truck, and an ambulance over the Hot Wheels set with a monster truck, a Camaro, and a Mustang
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
the Camaro and the Mustang would not have struck me as interesting as a kid, as they would just have registered as 'generic car'

the others would have, to an extent, tho i was never much into automobiles anyway

I loved automobiles as a kid

Even more than I do now

The various Chrysler makes were always my favorites

(This was before Daimler-Benz bought them; I'm old)
