  • See the problem is that I haven't actually read any social justice bloggers.

In fact, I don't think I currently read any blogs.  I used to use LiveJournal years ago but then I stopped after a while.  And I don't regularly visit blogspot, blogger, tumblr, reddit, 4chan, LiveJournal, DeadJournal, or anything that could be considered blogging.  Other than a few forums.

And even if I did read blogs I probably wouldn't care much about social justice bloggers.  I kinda clash with some political activist types because I'm really not interested in outrage or "exposure" or "see how insane this shit is".  Generally speaking, if I already agree with you, I don't need to be convinced, and I'm more interested in asking what you or I can do about the problem.

  • So, yes, I am sympathetic about the plight of child slaves in an African country with an unstable national government.  Can I do much about it?  Well, if I could dispatch a superhero team to change that, I would.  But I can't.
  • I may be willing to help back up the supply chain by boycotting products, though.

    That sounds reasonable.

There are some good social justice blogs out there. I follow a few of them. It's just that there are a lot of really bad ones.
  • There is literally no alternate costume in SF4 that doesn't accentuate Cammy's ass.

    None.

There's one that gives her a jacket, but doesn't cover her butt. There's one that actually increased the cut of the leotard, because that's just what Cammy needed.

There's a cat costume that covers her ass, but the cut's still pretty similar to her leotard thong.

I don't know how people play her without being self-conscious.

What's funny is that this is something of an exaggeration, but it's the version of events my mother prefers.

See, what happened was it was the last day I could turn in said permission form, and I quickly came to the reasonable assumption that my mother could pretty easily put her name down without a few days notice, so I waited until morning to show her it. And she was unwilling to sign it at first because it was too late for her tastes, but as she was about to sign it she saw me wearing a certain pair of jeans that she hated because they had two small holes in them.* She acted as if the fact that I don't care about the pants I wear (I get dressed in the dark most of the time tbh) was an act of open defiance towards her and wouldn't even let me change so she'd sign the paper.

My teacher was very disappointed in me for not turning it in which made me sad. This theater class has been something of a love-hate class for me.

*Funny thing about that. I personally don't like ripped jeans at all, but as those two holes were both small and a result of actual physical activity on my part, I was able to wear them with a clean conscience. However, my mother, who has on multiple occasions bought me ripped jeans, spontaneously decided to care about the school's rarely observed dress code restrictions recently.

Unrelated: Are the characters in your (Kexruct's) avatar and Norman Bates's avatar the same?  Because they look the same.  Roughly.

And I associate messy-brown-haired anime guy with both of you.
  • Yup.

Difference is that I actually beat the game get with the program Norman I want someone to talk about 999 with and Fossilmaiden has made a point of not talking about it gaaaaaaahhh
