You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I don't know why, AU, but your response made me giggle.

I didn't like The Amazing Spider-Man when I saw it, but seeing its score on Rotten Tomatoes swayed my opinion to positive for a while until I realized, no, that movie's terrible with the help of MovieBob and FILM CRIT HULK.
i often find the opinions of other people can influence my feelings towards something, especially if they point out some aspect that i didn't notice previously
Yeah. I'm not one to be swayed just by someone disagreeing with me—that is most silly—but my views can be shifted if something new that I had not previously reflected upon is brought to my attention.
I can't help but wonder why any self-respecting CEO/bigwig would go public with their homophobia
Like, seriously, wouldn't it be better for business if you at the very least kept your mouth shut about it, if you couldn't be arsed to rethink the matter entirely?
the characters didn't make any sense. They often develop off screen and randomly change personalities scene-to-scene.
It felt very slapdash. The movie can't decide if Peter Parker's parents' disappearance should be a mystery, the hunt for his Uncle's killer is dropped without any indication of why, many other oddities, I dunno, it's been over a year.
PETER PARKER
Jeez, he was the worst part of this.
His character is utterly unsympathetic.
Treats his aunt and uncle like garbage.
Generally acts like a jerk and a bully the entire time.
Doesn't learn anything by the end.
Was intended to be "what nerds are really like" but is actually just, as mentioned before, a jerk and a bully.
The tone feels very... self satisfied. Like it's constantly trying to show how hip it is, yo.
I have earned $12 dollars in the past week, due to a survey system that pays me money to do things. It is a common source of revenue on campus for those who lack steady jobs, and I've recently gained clearance to participate in it.

you say 'what nerds are really like' and i think horribly awkward, not a jerk or a bully
i haven't seen the movie in question, but Peter Parker was always meant to be a decent guy, not a bullying jerk
And that's the central problem. They intended to not tread the same ground as their predecessors but ended up leaving in only superficial things while taking away all the things that actually mattered.
Like, they even absolved him of all responsibility in his uncle's death. That's got to be like a cardinal sin or something.

It's better than I remembered it being; except for Littlefoot's voice.

A normal jerk and bully, not a nerd-esque kind.
