Music Theory Assignment. Take a melody and a bassline, and add notes in the middle until you get a moving line of chords.

I put a couple of bars of it into LMMS, and I realized that it would sound pretty cool with a slightly faster tempo. So, after finishing said assignment, I increased the tempo. And I decided that I would work with a bit more. And then I came to this wonderful site to declare my discovery, and then you asked for elucidation, and that is the series of events that has brought us both to this point.

And coincidentally, I'm currently trying to put some distort on this crash sample. And I don't have the slightest clue about how to do so besides 'put it on a piano roll and move it down an octave'. Which isn't working.
