You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I follow a Skyrim confessions blog, and the roleplay confessions creep me out.
I mean, it's one thing to want to have weird sex with character X, but it's another thing to marry character X as a beard to drive off character Y, and to have kids in a loveless 'relationship'.
They put way too much work into making things worse for NPCs.

You know, USB seems like a good example of how we tend to take technological conveniences for granted
I can safely operate under the assumption that any device worth connecting to my PC uses a standardized plug, which can be inserted into one of several interchangeable ports on my PC. The operating system will then be able to make the device ready for use without rebooting, and in most cases, without even requiring me to manually install third-party drivers.
Nerds from 1995 would kill for this technology, and we use it to charge batteries.

When I first read about USB in 1995-1996, I was like "Oh wow, an ADB clone that works on my PC!" Unfortunately, it still took another 2 or 3 years for most people to care, since until Apple took the plunge and made the iMac USB-only, there were few things that worked with USB.

Yeah, after I said that I figured 1995 was a little late since USB already existed by then (I recall one of the later Windows 95 updates included limited USB support), but it seems the technology wasn't widespread for a few more years at least...
