I have always found even regnal numbers more aesthetically appealing than odd ones. Eg. August IV instead of August III. And styling the first monarch of a given name "I" (for instance, Denis I of Portugal) at all rubs me the wrong way, unless it's retroactively. How do you know there'll be more?
the only exception to my odds/evens rule is compound names. Like Franz-Ferdinand, or Raimond-Benesat to use a fictional example, in which case I find odds more pleasing.

Even roman numerals in general have always looked nicer to me than odd ones. I don't know why.
Though I get a little annoyed when I see modern clocks that render 4 as IV. Traditionally, 4 is rendered as IIII on clock faces...

Probably.
But I like the certain aesthetic symmetry that using "IIII" on a clock face brings: the first four hours contain only I, the next four hours contain V, and the last four hours contain X

I can kinda understand using roman numerals on clocks, as an aesthetic choice, since the numerals on a clock face are largely cosmetic anyway. Once you've learned how to tell time, it's just the positions of the hands that matter...
Agreed that there's no reason not to use Arabic numerals for practical uses, though.

Also, speaking of clocks, a good number of mine seem to have stopped
Time to go to Dollar General or Deals or something and get a huge-ass pack of cheap AA batteries

More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Sis, your villainy is insidious. It is a complex and roundabout dance, all to remind me that you are my master and that you tell me what I am and it is inferior.

There is no escape, ever, but we are all surrounded by illusions that promise possibilities. I think that everyone's role is defined already when they get to puberty. For example, the "useless middle class piece of garbage" that is filtered out of almost every first-tier employment filter, and then is *always* filtered out of what few second-tier employment filters she gets to, where they actually look at your face before deciding that you are filth.
It is. Unfortunately, it's not going to be fully officially translated until roughly 2015. There's 4 volumes out ATM (with another due in November), out of 15, and that's since 2011. Thankfully, it's been fully translated online.
Also each book costs around £10, since they're all hardcovers. moneyyyyyyyy

Almost every story ever has made me feel inferior since roughly 2007, and it is entirely my fault. The more I identify with the characters' issues, the less this happens to me.

I tend to feel inferior when I read works of fiction about transgender people specifically, since the characters have usually made progress towards transitioning and I have not >_>

Hourou Musuko / Wandering Son is set between mid-primary school -> graduation from high school, so there's not a whole lot of actual transitioning going on. Granted, there is a transwoman in it who has transitioned.

Arabic numerals make more sense and are superior in basically every way. But some places still use roman ones.
s'weird, is all.
goodnight, Heap.
This makes my brain hurt

We've got however much time they want to give us to move out, but they could technically just come in at any time and kick us out. :/
Cirno is ticklish when you move your mouse over her at the top of the page. Cute. ^_^ I never noticed this.
