grrrrr here is the issue: the NES port allows two controllers to control the same ship, and I didn't realize that I had two different controller setups on the same buttons but flipped around. o_o Miko stoopid. But this power up system is still a little annoying.

so i was lamenting over my lack of Refillable Dollywood MegaGulp(tm) for tomorrow and my bud tuck offered his and i jokingly suggested that he should steal a car and bring me it but it turns out he lives literally 4 minutes walking distance away from me so we met up half way in the dark and now i have a big cup and i know where he lives so im probably going to turn his house into a giant ramp for my razor scooter. anyways thats your story for tonight and im going to bed GOODNIGHT

rrrrrr there is a pretty legitimate reason that checkpoint recoveries were removed from the genre as a whole. They are obnoxious and make winning literally impossible.
