Well, it hasn't happened here, for obvious reasons.
I mean, if I was exiled from here for reasons that I can't even imagine, I might lose touch with you guys. But we're all in the same community, albeit one that doesn't exist in the corporeal plane.
So I was in Latin and my friend moved to another row because she really wanted to be able to focus on work and not be distracted by me. I was okay with this, but I really wanted to share an idea I had for a game so instead of talking about it I wrote it down and shared it with her after school. I kinda want to share it here, too. Presented mostly unaltered.
My dream game:
Broadly speaking, TESesque exploration with elements of Zelda and Fable(?)
Okay, now for some more detail. Note: this was written stream of consciousness. Ideas are presented somewhat out of order.
The game would center around a glass display case in which another world is held. The player enters this world to explore, delve into dungeons, et. Before entering, the player eats food and equips items to change stats. Certain areas [in the game world] will teleport the player to a randomly generated dungeon resembling the dungeons from the first Zelda, if [the player] meets certain requirements. For example, upon touching a portal, a text box will pop up saying "A wizard passed through here with the help of telekinesis " [which] would require the player to wear wizard robes and cast telekinesis to enter the dungeon. After exiting the display-case [sic] world, the player can create new equipment with the various "essences" found, either by experimentation or with the help of recipes. "Wisps" can be combined to create "spirits" which grant abilities similar to the items in Zelda. Upon entering the glass display case world, the player starts off at a mansion, whose various parts (unlocked through exploration [of the display case world]) act as portals to various parts of the land. Items that boost strength, magic, spirit capacity [that is, the amount of spirits the player can use], and the amount of food that can be eaten [allowing for more stat boosts] are found in a way reminiscent of Heart Pieces from Zelda.

Do you think the Empire has all kinda of books devoted to Darth Vader and Emperor Palps?
I mean, I'm sure there's the standard propaganda machines out their praising there virtues and stern nature as necessary for this crazy galaxy, but there's got to be some "Inspirational quote" books amongst the mix.
if you deny or trivialize it, you're part of the problem

On a related note, I'm not fond of the term "rape culture." I agree with the sentiment, that our culture often trivializes or justifies rape, but then again, our culture also says rape is a very bad thing.

Similar opinions towards describing the feminist movement as a war against the patriarchy
So...it starts off as a fairly normal summer camp movie, then veers off into a rant about gun rights and the Constitution? If this is actually being aimed at kids around 11-15, then they really need to cool it with the gun-lobby politics. That sort of crap freaked me out even in 1992, when it wasn't nearly as virulent.

Rape culture means the culture within a greater culture that propagates the trivialisation and justification of rape, and while I agree that the term is misleading, it is not an invalid notion.
okay can I squee over Rayman a little more? if not, too bad, I'm going to anyway
this level is in the demo
and it kicks SO MUCH ASS. Like, Michel Ancel must have a secret donkey-rear-kicking facility tucked away at Ubi Montpellier, that is how much ass it kicks
I wish I were good enough at the PC version to play it all the way through but it's kind of awkward and I ended up dying twice on my first playthrough and once on my second but I DON'T CARE THIS IS AWESOME
I can't wait to finish the demo and then play through the whole thing over again on the PS3 and then I'm not super excited for the two month wait but mark my words, THIS GAME IS GOING TO MAKE MY BIRTHDAY THE BEST DAY
