    This is hilarious:

NBC's fortunes were only magnified on February 28, 2013 when WKYC — presumably fed up with the low ratings but also having some local ad inventory to get out — decided to push back a new episode of 1600 Penn and repeats ofThe Office and Law & Order: SVU to late night in favor of a two-hour Matlock movie from 1992. The station not only got some ad revenue, but something unexpectedimage to crow aboutimage — a 21-year-old TV movie got ratings on par with the Office repeat's national average and beat 1600 Penn's average on 56 NBC stations. It even managed, at least on a local level, to beat out ABC's programming (a Scandal repeat and a Jimmy Kimmel Live Oscar Special) in those same timeslots for the Men 25-54 demographic and tie Kimmel's rating in the general 18-34 demographic. The net result was that Andy Griffith still had a lot of pull, shaming those who left him out of the Oscars' "In Memoriam" segment.
You hadn't heard about that before?

Also funnier: WKYC was one of their original owned-and-operated stations

They wouldn't have been allowed to do this were they not owned by a non-network entity

(that being Gannett...one of the largest owners of NBC affiliates in the country)
Nope, this is the first I've heard of it.

My sympathies, Miko. As for realizing I'm not the worst-off ever with regards to family, agreed (though it shouldn't marginalize anyone's problems, but I think this forum has gone over that one way or another). Also, I just slept for fifteen hours. It feels good, really good.

I'm settling for a solid 8 at this point.

Been an uphill battle for a while with work and child, but I think I've finally got a decent rhythm down.

Now to adjust so I'm asleep earlier and up earlier.
  • Munch munch, chomp chomp...
I expected eight or ten, though that's still pretty good. I forget, what do you do for work? And good luck with all of that.

I feel like game reaction compilations are little more than a weak attempt to gain more views and likes, and in the case of bigger channels, cheaply.

hmmmm there is an Xbox 360 among the many game consoles in this house, and also many of CAVE's arcade games have region-free 360 versions with online leaderboards, as the 360 is the console-of-choice for shmups. Perhaps one day, when I suck at shmups a little bit less, I will spend even more large sums of money on importing obscure Japanese video games. :D But I suck too much at playing shmups to survive a game by CAVE. :o I can't even beat this illegal copy of Espgaluda...

I finally figured out exactly why hygiene.  It's because magic, the kind where if you have someone's tooth or skin particles or hair or nail or sweat or something; and you can do eeevil stuff with it, like make yourself look like that person, or control that person, or make a homunculus or something else really evil.

That's why people shower, to get off all their oils and stuff and send it down the drain; and people dust houses because dust is apparently partially made of skin folicles or something.

And that's why people shave and go to the barber.

It turns out, the hygiene associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a completely logical and natural instinct against magic.

You mean because not every poster has done so. There are people other than you that have, like Zersk.
