Although, I will say, the opening- despite not being "exciting" like Oblivion or Skyrim- is still my favorite.
And the information kiosk NPCs surprisingly served to make the game more immersive for me. The "my trade" dialogue option made the world feel surprisingly real in a way very little of the rest of the game did.
for me it's nostalgia + nice, imaginative setting + ballin' lore
I'm usually a sucker for nostalgia, which us why it surprises me so much that I don't enjoy Morrowind like I used to.
The setting was great, it's just too bad the game was so brown. It honestly kind of bugs me that they chose to use the most strange and alien world be the setting on the Xbox, by they chose what may very well be the two most mundane settings in the game's world for the next generation. A good aesthetic is very important for an open world game.
@kex: It really is a shame, because in the lore, cyrodill or however its spelt
was like
a jungly jungle place
and imperial culture was like. ancient rome mixed with ancient china, or something like that
You know, I always saw that on TvT, but this tome I was curious so I watched some gameplay of Arena, and Cyrodiil is the same as it was in Oblivion. Weird.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
YOU HAVE THREE MINUTES GO GO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Okay, sorry I'm late but here goes!
I like platformers and French things and stupid humor and pretty art and sexy fairies and main characters without limbs and Billy West's voice acting and John Leguizamo and punching things and occasional random gameplay changes and maybe torturing myself for the great feeling of reward upon triumphing past beyond Nintendo Hard levels of doom and there's only one series of platformers that has all of those.
So yeah. It's definitely not for everyone but it's perfect for me. :D
Oh and also, while I'm kind of breaking the time limit, I just have to say the music kicks all kinds of ass
And I've always liked platformers but I always thought the two big dogs weren't entirely my style (Mario's good, but I felt like it just wasn't my specific Thing; Sonic either makes my eyes or my brain hurt, or both, depending on the title). Ray, on the other hand, was a perfect match: not too fast, but not a snoozefest by any means.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I always liked Sonic's high speed a lot, but my favorite platformer is Mega Man because it is really my style: tight control, intense action, lots of traps, tough bosses, fun weapons, awesome music, and cool futuristic settings. :)

Speaking of, I hope Polytron's working on Fez for Vita
It'd be nice, I'm thinking about asking for a Vita for my birthday and since my brother would hate me forever if I got Rayman Legends on there I want something else to
a) provide me my platformer fix and b) get me through this semi charmed kinda life

I've seen it be said that danmaku is roughly as difficult as an old "traditional" shooter like Raiden or R-Type but the difference is in the play style: one can be good at one and not so good at the other. For a few things, danmaku games offer immediate respawns, are not *quite* as punishing to your weapons when you die, and give you a small hitbox so you can squeeze between bullets.

rayman origins was fucking rad as hell

I am too jaded to speak though.
The rest of the series is also pretty baller too.
explain to me why you enjoy Rayman

It baffles me to no end how anyone could consider that the pinnacle of the series.

We were married?
Judas is probably my favorite of the techy characters, he's not near impossible to use like Eve and he's not boring like Samson.
How is Timer clock, did you teach him how to play the piano like he often said was his dream.

torturing yourself, you say
Easy = Hard
Normal = Nintendo Hard
Hard = Harder Than Hard
Lunatic = O_O

Small = Hard
Wolves = Nintendo Hard
Pitbulls = Doom Atari 6400.
Chihuahua = Fighter class pilot.
Nice fez though, Monsieur Fish. :P
also, what is simple to you may be hard to others.
Judas is a good character if you can overcome that one heart handicap early on. He's described as the "mage" character and he fits the bill.
still not big on Rebirth's retro art style, on that note, but oh well.

Or Guacamelee. Shit, hopefully all three and Rayman Origins too, but that'd probably be impossible because money.
Roguelikes are not hard, but many people think they are.
