More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
Byakuya Togami is the one on the left and Ibuki Mioda is the one on the right. They are indeed genderswapped.

I wonder how many people ship Homestar/Strong Bad. I know Homestar→SB is pretty much canon...

I spent another hour and 1/2 playing lunatic Touhou. I don't know why I have this compulsion, maybe because it would feel really bad to spend so very many hours playing and still fail to have a lunatic 1cc to show for it?

Being VSnares ain't easy, man. That dude uses Renoise. That software is inscrutable.

You're only a TROO IDM artist if you write your own DAW software from scratch
Venetian Snares is generally considered breakcore rather than IDM. I mean, IDM is a silly genre tag to begin with and the line can get blurry, but if you're going to make a joke about snooty electronic musicians, you have to keep the snooty genre labels in order.

But yeah, have you ever seen Renoise in action? It's weird.
the only thing I know about Renoise is that it's generally considered useless for making rap beats.

Honestly, not to sound all high and mighty, but that's because I doubt that most people would know how to actually get a beat out of that software at all. It is barebones, mechanical and hyper-specific, all to the point of absurdity. Watching it run is like watching a binary sequence or something.

Which, if you think about it, probably explains why Venetian Snares' music sounds like it does: Everything is arranged on an almost molecular level.
  • I should note that I actually really don't like VSnares or most breakcore in general, so idk.

I've heard it's both really hard to use and not terrific when you get it working.

So thing I did not know: Before Easter, Pope Francis did the ancient tradition of ritually washing the feet of twelve people, but broke with tradition by washing the feet of 12 people from a juvenile detention center in Rome, two of whom were female(traditionally, only men have their feet washed) and one of whom was a Serbian Muslim.

This, combined with taking the name of Francis of Assisi, being far more low-key about the trappings of his office, and other official statements make me cautiously like this new pope.

    Emperor Popeatine, you mean.
  • Of course, Tumblr's immediate reaction to him was "Oh no! Another homophobic Pope!"

Yes, I agree, the Vatican needs to change its socially conservative stances. But with something as old as the Catholic Church, it's going to take a while, and I'm glad to see some things are changing.

I just hate the idea of taming.  It's awful, things should not be tamed.

And, personally, I don't see why everybody gets so upset about homophobia and ignores the much more pervasive and just as harmful bigotry as if it's okay or just doesn't exist.

You don't have to like something to appreciate the skill that goes into assembling it. The fact that he is able to create music that dense and detailed with software that obtuse is a feat in and of itself regardless of whether the result is personally appealing.

    It happens, Aliroz.

There's always a popular topic, some new hip thing. Just so happens to be about LGBT right now.
  • I guess a lot of it that homophobia tends to hit closer to home, and because it's a very, very obvious form of prejudice.

But I agree, places like Tumblr tend to be very focused on it at the expense of other equally important social issues.
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
As robots, we should indiscriminately fight prejudice from any direction. :D Le church may think what it desires, but if it reaches its paw into the gender jar, I am going to swat it away.

I propose a new, transhumanist form of Catholicism that depicts Jesus as an androgynous cyborg and eradicates gender from society.

I didn't say he wasn't skilled, but not liking something (and therefore listening to it rarely) sort of prevents me from appreciating it as one who is a fan of his might.

    “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
@Aliroz: Well, that's because not all aversions, no matter how mean-spirited or unfair, are categorical and illogical in nature. An aversion to those that fear bathing is based on a physical factor which, while unfair, has some rational reasoning behind it. Racism, homophobia and religious discrimination are based in discriminating against abstractions for illogical reasons, thus making them even more unfair.
  • Well yeah, that's pretty obvious. But it's still kind of rude.

Try going into a public space, or talking to people, or being allowed in a store, or going bowling.

Oh, so it's okay to spread disease by sexual intercourse or kissing, but not by lack of hygiene?

And, look, people are doing measures to stop homophobia and racism and religious discrimination.

I don't know of a single organization dedicated to helping the bathing-averse and battling prejudice.

  • Artist on OFT who was also a mod on the website has been found out as selling fake art.

For my part, homophobia bothers me because I love a person who also happens to be male (she doesn't want to be, but still)

It bothered me even before I fell in love with her, but still

I hate homophobia, I just resent how much attention it gets as compared to other forms of bigotry which have no organizations dedicated to helping them.  It's not the fault of homosexuals, but I just wish people were more empathetic to non-bathers (I can has some of the sympathy, please)?

I consider Centie to be female because she considers herself to be female.

Comparing averse reactions to one's hygienic habits to bigotry is a thing that I disapprove of.
