    "Most Epic Song"

  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
And chaos is the wellspring of creation.

  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    Have you seen any?
  • The sadness will last forever.
Not yet but I've heard of them.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I wonder if there are any that are actually, y'know, decent films.
  • The sadness will last forever.
    Oh, I dunno.
  • I need MOAR KITTENS.

    Should I sleep tonight? Y/N
  • D'awwwwwwww.

    I needed that. ::::3
  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
You doing all right, Ozzy? You seem a little unhappy lately.

Hmmm...reading the Year-End Hot 100s for The Nineties:

1990: I don't remember much about 1990, but this was a good year just because of Cosmic Thing (which will always remind me of the summer of 1990).

1991: AWESOME. This was the first year I really listened to the radio actively instead of passively, and so I remember a lot of these songs fondly.

1992: Same, though Fall of that year was a little difficult.

1993: Okay, maybe this isn't so bad, if only because "Rump Shaker" is still awesome nearly 20 years on.

1994: get it 0ut get it 0ut get it 0ut

1995: Kind of a transition year; high school ended, Alanis and Hootie showed up (and I liked Hootie, dammit), but college didn't go that well.

1996: The Macarena was the number-one song of the year. BLUH. Beyond that, several good songs on this list, though there's also memories of being a NEET and some faint, misguided attachment to high school in there as well.

1997: I was a total NEET this year, but I had made friends online, and my mood was improving. Several songs on here I still like, such as "Semi-Charmed Life" and "Barely Breathing". This was also the year "MMMBop" and "How Do I Live" came out, and while I remember hearing the latter on the radio back then, I know I would care now if it weren't for Homestuck. XD

1998: Wait, "How Do I Live" made the Year-End Top 10 two years in a row? HUSSIE? (just kidding) New job, first girlfriend, and...while I remember a lot of songs on here, I was listening to DC 101 pretty much all the time now and so most of my favorites are lower on the list, if they even charted.

1999: My favorite song this year was one that didn't even chart ("You get what you give" by the New Radicals). That said, I rememebr quite a few songs on this list, and I even liked Britney's first single (though, just like Katy Perry years later, that's as much from having a good producer as anything).

Thinking about 1999 is weird, for some reason.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I demand to know the 1994 songs.

    Unless it's too painful
  • I haven't 8een sad really, just kind of tired. Some of it has 8een work rel8ed (though since I have the 8ig D8a Entry Project done that should lighten up). And I miss some people on TVTropes, which is dum8 since the ones I can think of (Haven, Squiddle, Central, AU, Naney, Lee, etc.) are here too and I know I can talk to them here, I just have to get into the mindset that hey, it's ok to post here and 8e Vriska and do all the stuff I do in the Heap and none of the people who I like talking to will mind, and that I'm pro8a8ly not 8eing judged for still sticking around over there.

And I'm usually fine with change, it's just....... I dunno.
^Ah. Sorry about that. Hope you feel better soon.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Today I saw the name Nancy and read it as Naney.

    YNTKT
  • I'm sure I will.

It's just a 8unch of stuff happening at once I guess. 8ig Project and mass migr8ions would 8e fine on their own, it's just those together com8ined with new dealers coming in at work and my feeling a 8it "off" physically the past few days (nothing serious, I promise) kind of hit me all at once and gave me a case of the 8luhs.

Imi: Pretty much all of the Ace of Base songs, but especially The Sign (which was the number one song of the year, God dammit), since we got the cassette single right around the time my crush said she was seeing someone. FUCK FUCK FUCK.^CAKE

Also, some of the songs remind me not of my crush, but of how miserable my mom was over this one guy who was totally not interested in her. It was kind of a bad time for both of us.

@Vriska: Come to think of it, I kind of feel the same way right now with school. I'm about to start writing a big research paper for a seminar, and after that, I need to make 2 oral presentations within about a month and a half. On top of that, most of my friends have completely different schedules from me this semester, and most of them are either graduating this year or temporarily moving to another school for next year. It's making me start to crave leisure time and social interaction a bit even though I already have a little of those things.

So I think I get that feeling. Let's hope we both end up okay.

I'm pro8a8ly not 8eing judged for still sticking around over there.

You're not, I promise. I'd probably still be there too, if it weren't for a really nasty case of harassment. (I might come back anyway, but...it's probably not worth it.)

something. But then I ate some food and it went away.
We worry about this a lot when we started getting headaches from lack of sleep (at least, I assume that was the cause)

@Ozzy: I'm not judging your for sticking around on TVT. Heck, the only real reason I left was that I realized pretty much everyone I would miss comes here now and Yack Fest didn't really interest me anymore.
  • The sadness will last forever.
    Movies. Yay!
  • Gator: Yeah, sounds like.

It's like the too many irons in the fire shit got REAL for a while there. I had the same feeling 8efore Christmas when I was running myself ragged trying to get stuff done. 8ut after it was all done I felt really good.

I should 8e ok. I just need a 8reak, and tomorrow's a half day, then I have Tuesday off. As long as I don't have the insomnia thing happen again I should 8e a lot 8etter soon.

And I should remem8er to post here and not feel weird a8out drinking people's 8lood or manipul8ing them or even making some stupid roleplay thread to do random crap like that with the people who don't mind playing that kind of random crap with me.

I've found myself reading YF again when I'm bored and nothing is happening here, and even posting in a few cases, but it's not nearly as much as I used to. If I'm TVT at all, I'm either reading Wiki pages or talking to Freezy.

Ace of Base. I kinda liked them at the time. Now I don't see what the fuss was.

I still visit and post in the motherheap. But I haven't read the rest of YF in, like, a year.

I do peruse (and occasionally edit) the wiki though.

Ozzy, I certainly wouldn't judge you harshly at all for staying on TV Tropes. I'm just finding it a bit easier to fit in here than over there, and I also wanted to make a Pokémon thread that was mainly friendly chatting and monologuing about the series.
  • @Haven: Ouch on the harassment thing, if you want to ela8or8 in PM I won't judge. I was curious a8out why exactly you left 8ut didn't know how to ask or if you'd 8e OK telling.
  • And thanks guys.

I should get some sleep now.

You know, I think Vriska's got the right idea. I'm going to turn in, too. See you tomorrow, everyone.

I've been having this kind of day...minus  clot...

    Eating regularly is good.
  • Yeah. Though I'm a little sick too so that might've had something to do with it as well. Or maybe it was sleep-related, like yarrunpony said--I slept a decent amount, but it might not have been enough to compensate for sleeping even more erratically than usual over the last week.
