There is no actual point to cheating in a shmup because shmups have built-in cheating and it is called "continuing." :) Often continuing bars you from the end of the game, but that is because if you aren't good enough to get there, you will be annihilated.

After several attempted practice runs of Segment 6, I realize that Hellsinker becomes very difficult from here onward, and also that I will not be able to go any further until I find out how to configure the focus key to something usable, preferably shift. I need to be able to slow my character to dodge this stuff.
