You know, if Microsoft's plan is to push Metro-style apps as the primary way of using Windows in the future
They kinda forgot the vital step of making some apps available for it that are actually useful
I mean, I'm looking through the top-selling apps in the Windows Store, and it's all silly mobile-app-style stuff. Stupid little games, social networking apps, etc...nothing that you'd actually really use to be productive...not even Microsoft Office!

Whereas I have two different, full-featured office suites on my Android phone that have no trouble reading and writing all the X formats. (Now if they could do ODF as well, I'd be even happier, but you take what you can get...)

One is Polaris Offfice (which I hardly use), and the other is MobiSystems OfficeSuite 7 (which I got from the Amazon App Store on one of their free-app days).

I find it astounding that some would take comfort in cynicism.
You can't be optimistic unless you etch into your heart, just all the things that could wrong at any moment.
It's not optimism to only see good in the world because your knowledge of the world only has good things in it, those type of people are ignorant rather than optimistic.
It's why you've probably heard the phrase "I've lost faith in humanity" as one of those people mistaken for optimistic is just shedding their ignorance for understanding.

No, you're wrong. Losing faith in humanity is not gaining wisdom and furthermore naïveté is not only seeing good in the world. You're being hopelessly myopic here and I hope you awaken from your cynicism someday.
