I'm guessing the people complaining about the Wii Fit trainer are likely not people who play Wii Fit.

The trainers have something of a personality in that they're pretty much super-encouraging even when you fuck up.

If including her counts as fat shaming to someone, I'm guessing they also have issues with gyms and fitness centers just being out in public where everyone can see them.

Honestly the only person I know who plays Wii Fit is my mother.

My only point was that I can't imagine the two demographics overlap much, and I don't really have a problem with her inclusion, I just find it weird (though admittedly, only slightly less so than the villager from Animal Crossing).

The post that said that was made by a troll account.
  • That's... not much of a list. I'm sure a few people will rankle at it, but his opinions aren't so much controversial as they are slightly unusual and easily defended. With the exception of the last entry, it's very safe.

for some reason I had this thread open in another tab and only saw this now so I will reply to it.

I can't speak very much on his knowledge and appreciation of other genres, but Adam Brown is the worst fucking self-proclaimed hip-hop "fan" I have ever had the displeasure of reading the brain-drabble of. He knows almost nothing about the genre and is a complete smug fuck about his uninformed opinions.

I should note that I actually like most of the albums he put in the "meanwhile no one talks about" section, but I don't like how or why he defends them.

(also there is literally no one who thinks Efil4zaggin is the best NWA album. Or at least no one I've ever spoken to. Much less one of the best rap albums ever. You're way more likely to find people going on at length about how nothing will ever top Illmatic.)

    This is true.

Cracked can be amusing, but their media tastes on the whole are pretty staid. Some of their comics people are pretty weird—they regularly employ the people that do Subnormality, Bogleech and Tiny Kitten Teeth, after all—but even then most of the focus is on mainstream superhero fare and really nothing too exciting. What makes them entertaining is how they comment on most things rather than what they are commenting on.

    When that fails... meh.

I am enjoying this neat game. It is faster and more complex than Touhou, which has more elegant simplicity. Kamui is actually really hard for me.

  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”

Possibly the best song on Strange Mercy.

I mean, aside from the cheesy synth tones in the coda, it's perfectly odd.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Wait, correction: "Neutered Fruit" is the best song on that album. Or maybe "Cheerleader" or "Strange Mercy".

Curious that I'm listening to so many songs off of this album, given that I think it's the weakest album in Annie Clark's discography. The production is just way too... overdone and underdone at the same time.

Still, "Neutered Fruit" is just too out there to brush off.

I do, too, but in St. Vincent's music they feel somewhat inappropriate and blah most of the time. Granted, there are places on the album where they work, like the coda to "Surgeon"... which is otherwise one of the songs that suffers most from replacing Clark's usual battery of classical instrumentation with cheesy synths, ironically.

In Kamui, the player is a psychic girl's brain that got transplanted into ship controls. Many of the game's enemies are also psychic brains that got transplanted into weapons. The last boss is the girl's father's brain in a machine. Kind of horrifying, isn't it? :)

I love that album. It is wonderful.
