God is also omniscient, so his understanding and connection to each human is much different than say...a human's connection to each microbe. That being said, the book of Job sorta takes the idea you're mentioning as an example why people shouldn't blame God for bad things that happen to him.
Not so much that we're insignificant to God, more that God is running the entire universe and is operating a bit beyond our understanding.
I kind of wanted to reply to this comment, but I didn't want to taint an otherwise alright thread with silliness, thus is the reason I am replying to it here.
All I have to say is. "If I were a being of infinite power and understanding, I would certainly make damn sure my existence was quantifiable and couldn't latter be explained away due to the ignorance of how the world works, maybe by making giant space stations or something"
Hey kids, do you know what happens when you use language loosely and without fully comprehending the terms?
"No"
People die! Or they can lose their jobs, or they can suffer from an incurable cancer.
"But how"
Well, Little Sally, and Little Timmy, I don't know, I just find it amusing, you're orphan children now, I drank the blood of your parents last night, I am a vampire.
The kind who think he's some kind of philosopher. Of which, there are many, many more than you might think.
Well, he does make some very astute, trenchant observations, many of which I strongly agree with. Does that mean that I think him infallible? By no means, and people that take his word as gospel can be asinine. But I would rather use his words as a guiding force in my life than those of most self-appointed gurus and religious figures.
Admittedly, this says more about the state of religion, philosophy and self-help than about Carlin himself—to whit, the man would never want "followers" of that kind—but still.

I feel the ambiguity of God" makes some degree of sense for a religion in which belief is valued above anything else.
Note that I'm not endorsing the "blind faith" form of religion in this case. Though, that works for some people, I don't believe that is a necessary mechanism in this case.
It's the same line of reasoning you get when you follow any line of dialogue to its logical course, it's why disliking broad statement labels is such a stupid thing that I didn't feel like accurately describing it.
"I dislike Carl Sagan fans"
"Do you dislike Carl Sagan fans as a pretext, or just Carl Sagan fans who are loud and obnoxious and annoying, could it then not logically follow that perhaps you don't dislike them specifically because of a shared like of Carl Sagan and more because of their loud and obnoxious and annoying behavior"
I wouldn't bother to type this out if I didn't think you all couldn't better yourselves.

The problem is that I feel that the portion of fans of Carlin who are smug ratheist types is far too high.
Honestly, that was kind of a diversion on another topic that I don't want to discuss, so let's bring it back onto the actual point I'm trying to make.
Kex, you're putting too much importance into the label when it's a broad label, thus when you express dislike of that broad label, you sweep up so many people who just so happen to fit into that label.
It's like people who say they dislike Christians or Catholics because of the christians who quote those passages about "Stoning everyone" or the WBC.
Broad labels don't differentiate. Your broad statement of dislike for Carlin fans would logically mean you dislike Sredni, which I don't think is true.
Have I confused you further or cleared anything up?

Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."

I just learned that my rabbit was killed last night.

Anyways, I found the antidote to Johnny Test. It's Ultimate Spider Man. Watch episode three on Netflix, and if you don't like that episode, you probably won't like any of them; but, if you like it, it's a good place to start an awesome series.
