I'm trying to decide what to do with my Power Mac G5, as it's old (2004), one of the less-desirable single-core models, and just not as fun, I guess, as either my even-older Power Mac G4 or my Mac mini. That and it's HUEGER THAN XBOX and a pain to store in a room that's already out of space.

^^^ Because I'm cute and I'm a Leo and I'm a furry. See, it fits.
AU: Oh, it is, and it's also expensive as it's based on server parts.
The G5 isn't my daily driver, though, just a plaything (and one I've kind of lost interest in). It's too old to even run recent versions of OS X (it's been nearly 6 years since the first Intel Macs came out), and Linux on a G5 isn't different enough from Linux on a PC. And while I find non-x86 architectures intriguing, I think the PowerPC has pretty much seen its day unless you're a console developer -- ARM is the new hotness and looks to be heir apparent to x86 (the 6502's revenge, perhaps?)
Also, I'm watching truTV and GOD the commercials are annoying. Usually I fast-forward through them, but I'm watching live TV so I can't do that.
I'm watching Forensic Files, which is not a great show (it's a shameless ripoff of Cold Case Files), but it's also probably the best thing on the channel these days.

You know, I don't watch tv very often, even though I have cable in my room now

So thanks to a low-end Android phone and a wiress router, I'm posting from my bed right now.

One of the public-access channels here is running Godzilla vs. Megalon, and I noticed something totally geeky: They show a closeup of a car radio, and I actually recognized the brand! (Fujitsu TEN, for what it's worth, though I think TEN was still part of Toyota then.)
Hmmm, apparently part of this monster-movie show's shtick is to have the cast attempt to "interact" with the movie via green-screen. I'm not sure I like that. In fact, this whole thing makes me want to watch MST3k instead.

My DVR'd copy of this week's pony episode is corrupted.
For those keeping score: last week it didn't record at all, and this week the file is corrupted and I can't even play it. Insight Multiroom DVR, everypony!

Are left turns on red allowed in the United Kingdom?
Also, why am I asking this when I could just look it up?

Ah. I was wondering because right turn on red is fairly commonplace in the US and I was curious whether the UK had an equivalent practice.
Of course, then you get idiots who assume that turning right means they don't have to y'know, stop for the red light. It's always fun to watch people set off the red light cameras when they don't come to a complete stop before turning.
I remember one episode of What's New Scooby Doo where they decided to split up differently than usual (I think because Shaggy complained that he and Scooby always ran into the monster), so Shaggy goes with Fred and the other three go off on in their group. Shaggy and Fred just walk along in awkward silence and then both agree that next time, they'll split up like usual.
