You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I do recognize that not all tradition is good. Rattlesnake Roundups is a tradition, slavery and caste systems are tradition, etc. Just because it's tradition doesn't make it good.
Maybe we should learn from the past and build upon the knowledge of the past, but also innovate; rather than stagnating in ancestor-worship and nostalgia or rushing forward in novelty-worship and having to make things from scratch.
I guess we should test the common knowledge and facts, and try to add to knowledge.

Thanks
My mind is kinda fucked right now
I find it hard to think of IRC as anything but a crappy swimming pool
And I was briefly worried Anonus was a changeling sent to destroy me
^^^ Hmm. What's his user-name? I find the idea that I might have gotten into an altercation with a famous insane person on the Internet too hilarious not to want to be sure.

>Famous.
You make me laughs.
Well, perhaps "way more influential than someone that batshit crazy has any right to be" is more accurate, but I would say that he has some degree of fame, at least by proxy via his connection to Ray Kurzweil...

see it's funny because Stephen King is a hack who has recycled the same half-dozen ideas for all of his work.
Counterpoint: some of the Dark Tower series.
To the first: Pfft...
To the second, I would counter that by pointing out that even in his early novels he was basically recycling not just his own plots, but other people's: IT has the same basic premise as Peter Straub's Floating Dragon (which is awesome), with many of King's later novels sharing that blueprint.
But to counter that, his short stories are consistently above average, if not generally my cup of tea.
i have not read stephen king and probably never will!!
idk it just doesnt appeal to me, horror books. idk if anything stephen king-ish could horrify me half as much as, say, david foster wallace's Incarnations of Burned Children

Well now I wouldn't say that.
My mind wants out of this body
Why do I have to have a body anyway
It seems like a punishment somehow
I need to stop doing that.

I'm going back to sleep
If I show up dead by the hands of cyborgs and rationalist wizards, you know who to blame.
A man who is both stupider than and a worse writer than me.
How boring.
You make me laughs.

If I am Stephen King, I should sue the creators of Alan Wake.
Not just for infringement of my likeness, but for making an awful, awful game.
I curse it.
Incidentally, this is the plot for my next novel.
is cool.
But my facorite fractal is the Serpinski triangle.
Creative, he is not. Counterpoint: some of the Dark Tower series.
Not very often can someone sell the same thing to the same people.
Unless you're EA of course.
People of his type rarely are.
Counterpoint: the rest of the Dark Tower series. I didn't say he was poor, I said he was a hack.I wonder what kind of score, the SMW Stephan King got.
