Pet peeve: Tumblr claims to hate slut shaming yet constantly jokes about Taylor Swift's boyfriends.
Part of it's that Taylor Swift tends to portray herself as the 'nice, normal, pseudo-virginal goddess'. The contrast is where the humour is created.
I guess, but what I've seen is her saying she likes having meaningful relationships. It's kind of hypocritical that Tumblr would say having a lot of relationships means they can't be meaningful.

Taylor Swift is someone who shamelessly and cynically milks society's preconceived notions about how women should behave for her own financial gain, often while making other people look stupid in the process.
She's been coasting off of the "oh poor baby" sympathy from the Kanye West thing back in like 2010 for years now (I'm going to avoid going into how that entire incident was essentially an excuse for people to be racist), and people are understandably starting to get sick of the act. She acts like she's a high school freshman when she was born in 1989. She also publicly makes fun of other celebrities (usually her ex-boyfriends, of which she has many. As a recent example, she took several minutes at an awards show to mock an ex's accent.), which is understandably irritating to people who like them.
All in all it's just incredibly annoying and reinforces a bunch of stereotypes that no one who's not an 80 year old white male believes anymore, and sure, you could ignore it (I imagine most people do. Even I tend to.) but the entire point of progessivist blogs (which is presumably what you're talking about when you say "Tumblr" like that) is that they analyze these things and call them out when they deem it appropriate. If you don't like what they're saying, don't follow them.

I was talking about jokes I see on Tumblr, not progressivist blogs. I guess I can see where you're coming from, but I've never really seen her as particularly harmful. All the bile directed towards her just kind of annoys me though.
Celebrities always get more bile than they deserve (I really have no idea why anyone hates Nicki Minaj), but if you're going to make fun of one, Swift is probably the only one you could mock guilt-free (she allegedly supports some charities, but who doesn't in Hollywood?), without pulling up some pretty obscure folks. Or Charlie Sheen, and everyone's sick of Charlie Sheen jokes.
She supported NOH8, then later released a song with the lyrics ” so go and tell your friends that I’m obsessive and crazy. That’s fine, I’ll tell mine you’re gay”.
This is one I saw going around on Tumblr a lot. It is kind of hypocritical, but I don't think Tumblr has realized that most people are still okay with the use of gay as an insult, even those who consider themselves pro-gay rights.

Honestly of all the things on the list that probably bothered me the least.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I have seen Taylor Swift described as a sufferer of "Nice Girl Syndrome."
Speaking of tumblr, I've seen some fedora jokes on my dashboard recently, and I'm starting to get annoyed with them. First, they're overdone. Second, if we're going to make fun of people for their bigotry and irrationality, why not actually make fun of them for their bigotry and irrationality instead of the admittedly bizarre and mismatched but ultimately inconsequential fashion choices they make?

Even if they are that grievous of a crime against fashion, it can't really be any worse or even as serious as bigotry. But the way some people go on about it, you'd think it was.
Plus, some people (not saying most, but enough to be noticeable) use those jokes to dismiss reasonable arguments about gender issues made by non-feminists, and that irks me a bit.

But really, does anything look good with a scraggly neckbeard?
Suddenly I yearn for the halcyon days when the first thing I thought of when I saw the word "fedora" was Carmen Sandiego instead of tumblr social justice drama.

You should say that to numerous random Twitter users. Of both genders, I might add.

^^I'll admit, I kinda jumped the gun there. I guess it was leftover instinct from the fedora tangent earlier.
well its just that the gender of the commentators was not mentioned until just then, so why bring it up?
*shrug*
I suppose there is an assumption that all the people making these comments are men, but I dunno. I don't think I've seen it seriously suggested that men are the only people who are making these kinds of comments.
Comments
this was the first thing I ever heard by 2-Chainz. I went to get one of his mixtapes and was very disappointed.

Don't agree with all of it, but still, things.
honestly I wouldn't use that as a reference just because it's kinda hard to read.
Apparently it was typed on a phone so I guess that's understandable.

That's not a joke, that's seriously the most surefire way to get a Youtube video taken down.

Incidentally, I can't find either of the other two posts in the suite.

I legitimately do not understand how a kind of hat came to be associated with r/MRA types.
"there are many dogs here....

...
and I am a cat"
Not on people with neckbeards, though.
Yes.
few things have made me more irritated with humanity in general lately than this whole fiasco.
how can you even be selfish enough to suggest that a woman should quite possibly die so she doesn't get "less pretty to look at"?
what does Temple Fugate have to do with breast cancer?
(I had to rewrite his TVTropes entry the other day, thing was a mess)
some of the people making the comments about the mastectomy have been women.
I couldn't give you hard numbers on the gender ratio though.
